Father,
We thank You for Your great love for us, a love we can't even begin to understand, a love that would cause You to visit us in our sin and affliction and die such a horrible death for our deliverance. Give us a heart of gratitude as we think about this and forgive us for the times we take this great gift too lightly. Thank You for Your faithfulness to us when we are unfaithful to You and each other.
And than You that You are unwilling that any should perish, but ALL people come to a place of repentance, and thus salvation.
To that end, we pray You'd give us Your heart towards those around us, even those we consider our enemies. We see this world heading in a catastrophic direction and it grieves and angers us, but let our focus be on what is behind the evil and not the people themselves.
We pray for the salvation of those souls You died to save. We think first of our friends and family members and ask that You'd restore those who have wandered away. We ask that You'd save those who are not yet saved, speaking truth into their hearts and showing them their need for You.
We of course, pray for our elected officials and ask that You'd work mightily to protect those who know You and save those who don't. Please put it in the hearts of our representatives and judges to deal honestly and uphold the law and remove from office this election cycle those who won't.
We ask for the wisdom of Solomon to be on President Trump to make wise and godly decisions in his role as the president, decisions that affect so many lives. Thank You for Your protection of him when human protection fails, and keep him safely in Your hands for the rest of his term.
Praise You for a president who acknowledges You so openly and bring him to a place of salvation if he's not yet there to Your honor and glory.
