Sudan, June 23, 2026: In a region where fear and violence have become part of everyday life, one Catholic priest chose to remain beside the people he served. Father Youhanna Al-Amin, parish priest of St Vincent Parish in Kauda, in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains, was killed along with two others in an attack that has left the Christian community mourning a servant who stood with the vulnerable until his final moments.
A priest who remained with his parish in Sudan despite growing violence was killed after the theft of vital medicines intended for local people.
Fr Youhana Alamin, parish priest of St Vincent’s Parish in Kauda, was fatally shot on Friday, June 19, in the Nuba Mountains, along with one watchman. Another watchman survived the attack.
Sources from the Diocese of El Obeid told the Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) that the priest was planning to evacuate after armed men entered the church premises on June 18 and demanded access to the medical store to take supplies.
Father Youhanna was known among local Catholics as a priest who chose presence over safety. While many religious workers had been forced to leave because of deteriorating security, he remained in Kauda to continue his pastoral mission and support the people who depended on the Church.
For many communities in conflict zones, priests and religious workers often serve far beyond their spiritual responsibilities. They provide comfort, organise humanitarian support and stand alongside families who have lost homes, loved ones and livelihoods.
Father Youhanna’s ministry reflected this commitment. His decision to stay with his parishioners became a powerful symbol of solidarity. For the people of Kauda, his presence represented hope during a period marked by uncertainty and suffering.
Church leaders have called for prayers for the victims

Medicine or DRUGS !!
Prayers up for a true Christian martyr, who did his best to serve his flock and was vilely miurdered for it; naturally in an islamic (puke and poison rat peeon them) country.
Which will receive no notice from the FReeper Allahu Akhbar Chorus which claims to be concerned about Christian deaths, but won’t in this case because there is no plausibly blamable Jew.
They don’t give a crap about their Christian brethren.
They just hate Jews.
One of my favorite movies. Monica Bellucci didn’t affect my like... mmm...
I sure hope you are wrong
I won’t be.
I’ve posted about two dozen articles about muslims murdering Christians on either side of Africa, and once, just exactly one time, did Liz show up to comment. Not one other time did all the people who blame Jews when muslims get Christians killed in the Middle East, ever show up to give a damn about the 1,000,000+ murdered Christians.
They will literally blame a Jew dozens of times when a muslim pulls the trigger and murders a Christian in Syria.
But they will not show up here.
I guess I will put in my obligatory reply to your typical strategy of using the death of Christians doing the Lord’s work to claim your own injury...
“Look at that Christian priest being killed! The Jewish people are the real victims here!”
I can assure you that the Israel critical people on FR are ALSO very upset about this. Not in the same way you are though...we are actually upset at a Christian being killed. We aren’t trying to claim some of the victimhood for ourselves.
The difference in our vocal response to events like this and events where the actions of Israel result in Christian deaths, is that nobody on FR is supporting the animals who killed the priest.
If we had large numbers of FReepers making excuses for the headchoppers or defending them or putting out hasbara on how it was just an accident or why the actions of the headchoppers had nothing to do with the deaths of the Christians, etc....then I can assure you there would be many of us screaming in the replies trying to defend the truth.
I know you won’t answer any of these arguments with logic and will once again just call me names, but it was worth a try.
This headline is very confusing. It sounds like he was killed for stealing medicines. Even the first paragraph reads that way.
Oh look!
#2 in 18 months, the same guy who repeatedly blames Jews when muslims murder Christians.
This is my shocked face :-0
Because you are reliable only in your hate.
We’re up to two out of twenty or so, so Liz once, Nitzy once. A whopping 10% hit rate on not giving a crap about Christians murdered by muslims unless there is plausible Jew to blame.
Keep up the good work! Maybe after another twenty posts and noticing them all, you’ll be near Liz’s 50%+ anti-Jew posting rate. Or your 88% last I bothered to notice you.
