Archbishop of Detroit praises new mosque: ‘There is nowhere I feel greater kindness’

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Michigan (LifeSiteNews) — Archbishop Edward Weisenburger of Detroit attended and spoke at the grand opening of a mosque and the new headquarters of the Islamic Institute of America (IIOA) last week, praising the building and erroneously saying that Muslims and Catholics worship the same God.

In his brief remarks, Weisenburger lauded how he felt a “divine presence” as soon as he arrived at the Imam Al-Hasanain Mosque and erroneously claimed that all mosques, churches, synagogues, and other “places where God reaches out” are sacred spaces. The archbishop also offered his prayers that the new mosque and Islamic center will bring all of humanity “into a deeper communion with our ‘one god.'”

“There is nowhere that I feel greater honor, fraternity, and kindness, and from the moment I drove onto this beautiful property today, I very fully felt the sense of the divine presence,” the archbishop said.

“We are members of the same human family. All churches, all mosques, all synagogues, all places where God reaches out and touches with his finger are sacred,” he added. “This is a truly wonderful and sacred place, a place that will bring all of humanity, I believe, into a deeper communion with our ‘one god.'”

Archbishop Edward Weisenburger scandalously said that he ‘very fully felt the sense of the divine presence’ at the new headquarters of the Islamic Institute of America.

This heretic, who I guarantee is an active sodomite, should be ran out of the Catholic Church on a rail. But in reality he’s Leo’s kind of bishop who will undoubtedly be made a cardinal.

It’s extra depressing when even an archbishop doesn’t know the difference between Allah and the Holy Trinity.

Imagine any old testament saint saying “there is no where I feel greater kindness than at the temple of Baal”

Memorable War of the Worlds (1953) scene....
No one had made an attempt to talk with them...
If they are advanced then they should be nearer the Creator for that reason...
They should be shown we mean no harm....

Since the Islamists do not believe Allah is the same as the God worshipped by the infidels, it is in a sense a form of blasphemy for a Christian to equate Islam’s Allah with the One True God. Just my opinion.

While some say the opposite, such sources as BibleAsk say:

“Do Christians and Muslims really believe in the same God?

The simple answer is no. Even though both religions are monotheistic, meaning they believe in one God, their understanding of who God is, His nature, His actions, and His message are very different. The God of the Bible and the Allah of the Qur’an are not the same. They have different characters, different revelations, and lead their followers in very different ways.”

Why is it that elevating a priest to a bishopric turns a person into both a bishop and a pric?

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

The Vatican Has Declared War on Christianity

[Snip]
Standing inside the Grand Mosque of Algiers… the third-largest mosque in the world, a building capable of holding 120,000 Muslim worshippers, crowned by the tallest minaret on earth… the Pope (Leo) declared... “I thank you for these reflections and for these important words during this visit, from a place that represents the space that is of God; a divine, sacred space where so many people come to pray in order to find the presence of the Most High, of God, in their lives.”

Read every word again. Slowly.

“The space that is of God.” “A divine, sacred space.” People come here “to find the presence of the Most High.”

A mosque is a building constructed on the explicit theological rejection of Jesus Christ. The shahada, recited by every Muslim, declares… “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger.” Jesus is deliberately excluded from that confession. Surah 4:171 of the Quran commands Muslims... “Do not say ‘Trinity.’ Desist… Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son.” Surah 4:157 denies the crucifixion. Surah 112 denies the sonship… “He neither begets nor is born.”

Every doctrine that defines Christianity… the divinity of Christ, the Trinity, the crucifixion, the resurrection, the atonement… is formally, explicitly, and doctrinally denied inside the building the Pope just called “the space that is of God.”

1 John 2:22-23... “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either.”

The Apostle John did not call the denial of Christ a “different path.” He called it the spirit of antichrist. And he said flatly that whoever denies the Son “does not have the Father.” If they do not have the Father, then the “Most High” being sought in that mosque is not the God of the Bible. The Pope called a building where the Father cannot be found “the space that is of God.”

This was not a slip of the tongue. He (Pope Leo) wrote in the mosque’s Book of Honour... “May the mercy of the Most High keep the noble Algerian people and the entire human family in peace and freedom.” He used the phrase “Most High” in a building where “the Most High” is defined as a deity who has no son. He borrowed a Biblical title and applied it to a god the Bible does not recognize.
