The Podemos MEP and former Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, has lashed out at Pope Leo XIV, whom she describes as "head of a theocracy," accusing him of attacking the right to abortion during his speech this Monday in the Congress of Deputies.
In a video disseminated on her social media, Montero maintains that Leo XIV should not have had such an institutional "megaphone" to speak in the Lower House and attack "democratically won" rights such as euthanasia or the voluntary interruption of pregnancy.
According to the Podemos leader, questioning the right to abortion means going against more than half of the citizenry, while a good portion of the public representatives present in the hemicycle listened "without flinching" or even applauded him "with enthusiasm." In line with this stance, Podemos decided not to attend the event, and its four deputies left their seats empty during Leo XIV's speech.
To conclude, she pointed out that she considers it positive to "reclaim some Christian values where everything is so dark today," but warned that this "cannot lead to deception," since, in her opinion, it is essential to undertake "urgent" changes and "neither the Pope nor the Catholic Church" will be allies in that process.

Leftists created another sacrament.....
they call it “abortion”.
The head of a state that is also the seat of a major world religion is running a theocracy. I should hope so.
What you said.
This Montero character’s obeisance to planned parenthood is reprehensible.
Two euphemistic terms that hide the murderous reality behind them. Euthanasia means “good death” and “voluntary interruption of pregnancy” conceals the fact that an innocent baby is being savagely murdered in what should be the safest place in the world—her mother’s womb.
I've always found that second euphemism especially deceptive, insofar as it suggests that the pregnancy has been merely "suspended" - as though the pregnancy could then be recontinued or resumed at some later point in time!
