Apparently, there are a lot of Biblical things happening these days, according to people knowledgeable about the topic. One of those things has to do with the declining water levels of the Euphrates River.
According to a biblical prophecy being discussed by some Christian groups, the apocalypse will occur if the Euphrates River, which flows through Turkey, Syria, and Iraq, dries up. The Book of Revelation mentions the river drying up before significant end-time events. The Euphrates also appears in the Book of Genesis and the Book of Jeremiah.
Unfortunately, the longest river in Western Asia is shrinking fast, according to researchers. Some scientists have even said that the Euphrates could essentially dry up by 2040 if it continues to deteriorate at its current rate.
Should the nearly 1,800-mile-long river, located in the Biblical “cradle of civilization,” dry out, it could be a sign of the Battle of Armageddon, a catastrophic conflict said to occur before Jesus Christ’s Second Coming.
“The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East,” reads Revelations 16:12.
Running between the East (Syria) and the West (Israel), the river is viewed as a natural border and line of defense. Should the river dry up, it would be a precursor to large eastern armies advancing toward Armageddon.
Less Biblical implications of the Euphrates River drying up While the potential end of the world is concerning to Biblical scholars, there is another threat affecting communities that rely on the Euphrates River. The Euphrates River basin may have lost over 34 cubic miles of freshwater since 2003, according to studies using satellite imagery, according to the Daily Mail.
“Diarrhea, chicken pox, measles, typhoid fever and cholera are currently spreading across Iraq because of the water crisis, and the government no longer provides vaccines to its citizens,” Naseer Baqar, climate activist and field coordinator at the Tigris River Protectors Association, told BJM, via The Mirror.

And Biblical Scholars Think It Means Armageddon Is Coming
Good!

Yep.
“Drying up” as opposed to water diversion for agricultural and urban use is a relevant distinction.
I have never been keen on building big cities in the desert. Or in semi-arid regions. At least on the coast, there’s the option of desalination.
God wins in the end... and check out my tag line...
Maybe it would help if they had a rule that said if you use water from the basin, you must pee in the basin.
Personally I can’t wait for the 274,000 “AI” videos and articles that will provide evidence of how this is true and no doubt the fallen angels bound at the Euphrates that will be released as well.
Or vice-versa................
A distinction without a difference, one might say.
If the river dries out, (or runs way way low as rivers do sometimes), why does it matter where the water is going?
Including into the atmosphere....
It’s ‘drying up’ only because Turkey and Syria are damning the river for irrigation.
But I guess it counts anyways.
Owwwwwwww! Climate activist! I’m surely impressed now.
Just as an aside, my dad and grand-dad used to cut huge ice blocks out the Hudson river in Athens New York for “ice boxes” in the early 1930’s. Thinkin’ it doesn’t freeze like that anymore. Earth cycles...... (obviously in the winter)

I thought most rivers were drying up due to global hotting.
Global Warming is passé’ now. Global Cooling is the next bid crisis. Algore has already switched his campaigns.........

Exactly. The Aral Sea (located between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) is the perfect example. It began shrinking dramatically in the 1960s when the Soviet Union diverted its two main feeder rivers — the Amu Darya and Syr Darya — to irrigate cotton fields and other crops in the Central Asian desert. By the 2000s, it had lost over 90% of its volume, splitting into smaller remnants.
The before and after photos are shocking. Those Central Planning Soviets sure screwed the pooch on that one. All for cotton.
So these bible scholars who are discussing the 6th angel and the Euphrates and Revelation 16, is it their opinion that the. first 5 angel events that are also ‘bowls of wrath’ have already occurred?
Not long ago someone posted an old cover from Time or Newsweek with a picture of a Snowball Earth as they called it.

Does Mexico have a bone to pick with us over the Colorado river? How much do they get?
