I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness - 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Dear Precious FATHER, we give You our hearts and ask Dear LORD, to bless us with the LOVE that is pure and good, because that can only come from YOU. The heart of our Nation is the family, and the heart of our family is our children. Take the heart of Nation and the heart of our families and bless us in accordance to YOUR WILL. Create in us all a pure heart, restore a right spirit within us.
I came across this precious prayer in my devotions and will use it today to pray for us all.
A prayer for Blessing on the Families of the Land
Almighty GOD, our Heavenly Father, who sets the solitary person in the comfort of families; I commend to your continual care the homes in which your people dwell. Put far from them, I beseech you, every root of bitterness, the desire of boastful vanity, and the pride of life. Fill them with Faith, Virtue, Knowledge, Temperance, Patience and Godliness.
Knit together in constant affection those who, in holy wedlock, have been made one flesh; turn the heart of the parents to the children, and the heart of the children to the parents; and fill all of us with true love and charity, so that we put aside petty differences and act with kind affection and sympathy of brotherly love; through Jesus Christ our LORD.
Almighty God, You are the only source of health and healing. In You, there is calm and the only true peace in the universe. Grant to each one of us, Your children, an awareness of Your Presence, and give us perfect confidence in You. In all pain, weariness, and anxiety, teach us to yield ourselves to Your Never-Failing Care, knowing that Your Love and Power surround us, trusting in Your Wisdom and Providence to give us health, strength, and peace when Your time is best, through Jesus Christ our LORD. AMEN and AMEN.

The enemy has worked very hard to destroy the institutions of family and marriage.
Lord, help us to not give the enemy victory. Help us to remember that we are all damaged, in need of the Savior, and that we are to be as His humble servants, extending love, mercy and forgiveness. Let us allow Christ to rule our homes.

Apostle James the Brother of Saint John the Theologian
Troparion
As a soldier of the Lord you were ranked among the choir of Apostles. / Together with your brother, O James, you clung wholeheartedly to the Savior. / Armed with the power of the Spirit you proclaimed Him to all, and were slain by the sword. / Therefore, we sing your praises.
Troparion
You were a chosen Apostle of Christ / and the only brother of the beloved Theologian. / O most praised James, entreat Him to grant the remission of sins and great mercy / to those who sing hymns to you.
Kontakion
You heard the divine voice when it called to you, O glorious James; / therefore, casting off the love of father, friends, and companions, / together with your brother John, you hastened to Christ, / and you were worthy to behold the divine Transfiguration of the Lord.

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
Thank you for the prayer threads.
