In February: Pope Leo sent 80 generators, thousands of medical supplies to Ukraine

Pope Leo XIV has sent 80 electric generators and thousands of medical supplies to Ukraine to help civilians cope with freezing winter temperatures and constant attacks, the Vatican announced on Feb. 9.

The aid was arranged in response to appeals from bishops who warned of mounting difficulties caused by Russia’s attacks on energy infrastructure and subzero temperatures across the country.

Three trucks carrying the generators and medical supplies departed from the Basilica of Saint Sophia in Rome and have already arrived in Fastiv and Kyiv, areas heavily affected by recent strikes.

Alongside the generators, thousands of medical supplies were delivered, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, supplements, and melatonin, which Vatican officials said is in high demand as Ukrainians struggle with stress and sleep deprivation amid ongoing attacks.

The Vatican added that preparations are underway to send another shipment of medicine and food, with distribution coordinated through parish networks across Ukraine.

Since assuming the papacy last year, Pope Leo has called for "a just and lasting peace" in Ukraine and has offered to host peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow at the Vatican.

Zelensky has expressed support for such an initiative, while Russian officials have thus far rejected the proposal.

Before becoming pope, Leo XIV denounced Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine while serving as Bishop of Chiclayo in Peru.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Some in the public act like Pope Leo's peace 'schtick' is just Trump-induced. No he's been pretty consistent, including addressing more obscure conflicts around the globe.

The pope has also opened the door for Putin & Russian officials to use Vatican grounds to engage diplomatically with Ukraine.

The moron pope likes Islam much more than Orthodox, even though Orthodox is a Christian faith that is 80% in common with Catholicism, unlike Islam that is 5% in common with Catholicism.

Leo needs to tear down his walls.

As an example for the others.

I thought the Bible and especially Catholic history are full of people wielding sword? One thing saying we need to bring peace, but saying something that is just theologically and historically inaccurate is different.

And yes, Pope is infallible but only when speaking ex cathreda. What he says in interviews doesn’t count.

Holy moly. 80 generators, at $400 a piece is $32,000,. Vatican tours alone take in 30000 visitors a day at 20 euros ($1.18 per euro) which is $708,000 a day.

---- "The moron pope likes Islam much more than Orthodox, even though Orthodox is a Christian faith that is 80% in common with Catholicism, unlike Islam that is 5% in common with Catholicism."

Surely seems so.

"Fr Giacomo Cardinali, Vice Prefect, said in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that Muslim academics had requested a small area in which to pray, and the library had agreed. 'Some Muslim scholars have asked us for a room with a carpet for praying and we have given it to them,' he said."

Source: Vatican Library grants Muslim scholars a prayer room The Catholic Herald, 12 October 2026

"The Vatican Apostolic Library does indeed allow Muslims a room for prayer. But, importantly, it does not appear to be a generally accessible Islamic prayer space but rather one designated for the 'Muslim scholars' that may be on site at the time. Further, it was only opened at the request of scholars themselves."

"...the vice prefect of the Vatican Apostolic Library describes the space as nothing more than 'a room with a carpet'." Source: Fact check: Did the Vatican Library open a prayer room for Muslims? The Catholic Telegraph, 16 April 2026.

"Pope Leo XIV has in his ministry so far placed an emphasis on interfaith dialogue. In May, Pope Leo hosted inter-religious delegations at the Holy See to boost ecumenism, saying that Christians should unite 'in a spirit of human fraternity.' Pope Leo's language mirrors that of his predecessor, Pope Francis, who 'promoted both the ecumenical path and inter-religious dialogue,' the current Pope said."

Reading the comments on "Faith Image's Post" is most amusing and suggests "a room with a carpet" in which Islamic prayers are said is a mosque, when all is said and done.

Source: Faith Image's Post

"The term usually refers to a covered building, but can be any place where Islamic prayers are performed; such as an outdoor courtyard.'

Mosque Wiki

It's a mosque. A peater room for Islamic prayers. It's a mosque in the Vatican Library, because "ecumenicism."

Meanwhile in Islam ----

"Allah's Messenger (blah-blah) said, 'The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya tax'."

Source: Chapter: The breaking of the cross and the killing of the pigs Sunnah.com.

Got it? Break the cross. And their "son of Mary" is named Issa who did NOT die on the cross, and so not Jesus.

Leo the Ecumenical shows himself a relativist, at best. And Cardinali, Vice Prefect, doesn't know the basic meaning of "mosque."

What's wrong with sending medical supplies?

There's a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Even civilians and children are suffering.

What's wrong with the Pope helping them?

Some of the anti-Catholics on FR whine about the Pope being "rich." Then when he sends medical aid, they complain about that.
