On Easter, Pope Leo delivers commanding message of peace to a world at war
Washington Post ^ | Apr 6, 2026 | Anthony Faiola

Pope Leo XIV used his first Easter speech Sunday to deliver a resounding call for peace in times of renewed war, declaring, “Let those who have weapons lay them down!”

On Palm Sunday, Leo said that God “does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war.” He quoted Isaiah 1:15:

“Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen — your hands are full of blood.”

As far as I am concerned Mad Moe was the Anri-Christ. Mad Moe’s Mafia is still killing Christians to this very day. Any Pope who gives that evil religion any respect deserves none from me.

I finally agree with the Pope on something. It should be basic commonsense to anyone who considers themselves to be Christian but there’s a lot of fake Christians out there.

I don’t even want to know what your hands are full of Leo. If that’s your REAL name.

Easy for him to say. He doesn’t have any responsibilities.

The world is not at war. If it was, there would be no one alive to hear him.

“I finally agree with the Pope on something.”

Be specific. What do you agree with?

Peace would be wonderful. It is the Hebrew prophets’ dream (and divine promise).
However, such messages of peace are received in certain evil quarters (such as Islamic) as a lack of will to fight, defend ones’ self. This only encourages, invites attack, war. Appeasement is not a path to peace with such enemies. It is a path to piece (meaning, you gonna get chopped up into pieces).

Reagan knew that the path to peace was through strength: “
We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression.”

George Washington understood how to secure peace, too:
“To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.”

so did Theodore Roosevelt:
“A good Navy is not a provocation to war. It is the surest guaranty of peace.”

There are plenty of additional quotes, some like the above and some pleading for pacifistic ideals. But this little posting note could never be complete without this quote which pretty much summarizes my philosophy, more or less...

“When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.” — Will Rogers

The quote from Isaiah is referring to the Hebrews sacrificing animals, not war. This Pope is a liar.

King David couldn’t build the temple because he was a ‘man of war’ and his hands were ‘full of bloodshed.’

Not the same quote but in Hebrew..sorry..learn Hebrew and Septuagint Greek.
The Greek and Hebrew are very exact words and phrasing.

“A world at War?”

Trump has ended wars in Central Asia, SE Asia, Africa, Latin America .... across the WORLD and has started one war in IRAN.

The Pope speaks in generalities that have little relation with the truth. The world is less at war than when the Pope, or Trump took office. But there is still Iran... and of course Russia-Ukraine who seem to be in a pissing contest and their people think it is raining.

Immediately tell the real vatican police and the Swiss Guard to put down their weapons. They carry Sig pistols, and Sig rifles and other modern weaponry. Blatant hypocrisy. I assume those weapons aren’t for ceremonial use.
St. Peter performed miracles....this guy hasn’t done squat. Well, he probably does squat....until he can match St. Peter, this faker should at least be consistent with the Catholic church teachings.

I really feel sorry for all the wonderful faithful Roman Catholics who have to endure, and forgive, their unfaithful ceremonial leaders. At least MOST religious denominations get rid of their rotten, unfaithful leaders.

The Pope does not appear to know his Scripture. The passage he quoted has nothing to do with waging war or prayers for war.

The blood referred to is the blood of "fed beasts" offered as sacrifices. The whole passage is about the immorality of Judah who are compared to Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isaiah 1:10-11  Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.  (11). To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

King David couldn’t build the temple because he was “man of war” so Solomon built it instead. Solomon’s name means “peace.”

1 Chronicles 22:8: “But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have waged great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before Me.”

1 Chronicles 28:3: “But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for My name because you are a man of war and have shed blood’”

1 Kings 8:18-19: “But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart. 19‘Nevertheless you [David] shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he will build the house for My name.’”
