America Prayer Vigil

Join with fellow FREEPERS to pray for AMERICA: For those in Authority in Government, Family, Military, Business, Agri-Business; End to Sex Slavery; Healthcare, Education, Churches, and the Media. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. (1 John 5:14)

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2

From Psalm 94

O Lord God, You to Whom vengeance belongs, O God, You to Whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render to the proud a fit compensation!

Along with the psalmist we see the enemies within and outside our beloved UNITED States of America. Vengeance is Yours and we trust You, but utter a prayerful sigh, “Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph and exult?” They pour out arrogant words, speaking hard things; all the evildoers boast loftily. They crush our people, O Lord, and afflict Your heritage and the righteous foundation on which our Republic was formed. Yet they say, The Lord does not see, neither does the God of Jacob notice it.

We confidently and delightedly say, “Consider and understand, you stupid ones among the people! And you [self-confident] fools, when will you become wise? He Who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He Who formed the eye, shall He not see? He Who disciplines and instructs the nations, shall He not punish, He Who teaches man knowledge?” The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vain (empty and futile—only a breath).

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You discipline and instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law, That You may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity, until the [inevitable] pit of corruption is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not cast off nor spurn His people, neither will He abandon His heritage. We specifically think of the anointed spiritual leaders and those currently serving in public office by Your direction and under Your anointing. Give them time to study and show themselves approved unto You. We trust Your Holy Spirit to put them in the category of those whom “You discipline and instruct and teach out of Your law” We pray that You would send laborers to deliver Your Word and the truth and information they need to function in excellence. Give them wise counselors and may Your Spirit give them discernment when the enemy tries to come in to lead them astray.

Our hearts’ cry to You, Father, is that we would be One Nation Under the One and only True God. Show each of us what our part is in helping to achieve this. We love and honor You and choose obedience. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
