In this LINK , you can hear another musical picture painted by Handel.

At first, the chorus sings "By man came death" in an eerie, soft minor key. Then you have to jump to turn down your speakers for "In Christ shall all be made alive", otherwise the sound might break them.

The version I chose is a very big choir at the Royal Albert Hall, but even with a small chorus, there is a similar effect. The contrast between Death and Resurrection is palpable in the music.

Handel's Messiah is full of musical moments like this, and I probably missed a few. The more I listen to it, the more I hear.
