We pray today for Vice President Vance. You have done so much to birth him into the position he now holds. We see Your hand in his life. We thank You for giving him boldness and a firm foundation from which to make choices. However, we understand the temptations and attacks of our enemy on someone with such a high call on his life. We offer ourselves to support him.
We pray that he would be given time to study to show himself approved unto You. Surround him with people of wisdom and discernment. May You make him this kind of man: “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”
“Let the lying lips be silenced, which speak insolently against the [consistently] righteous with pride and contempt. Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear, revere, and worship You, goodness which You have wrought for those who trust and take refuge in You before the sons of men! In the secret place of Your presence You hide them from the plots of men; You keep them secretly in Your pavilion from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the Lord! “The evil men bow before the good, and the wicked [stand suppliantly] at the gates of the [uncompromisingly] righteous” Father, qualify him by Your Spirit to be the ‘good’ that evil men may bow before him and stand suppliantly at his gates.
“A wise man suspects danger and cautiously avoids evil, but the fool bears himself insolently and is [presumptuously] confident.” (Pr. 14) Father, give him wisdom and discernment to cautiously avoid evil.
“But Paul selected Silas and set out, being commended by the brethren to the grace (the favor and mercy) of the Lord.” As Paul and Silas were commended by the early church brethren, so we commend Vice President Vance to the grace, favor and mercy of the Lord. “So now we commit him to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build him up and give him the inheritance among all those whom God has sanctified.” (Acts 15 and 20)
You who have begun a good work in him will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. For this we bless You in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer For Leaders To Come To Know Jesus
Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that You are a gracious and merciful God, but I also know that you are also holy and righteous and cannot and will not look upon sin.
Be merciful I pray, to the nations whose leaders have turned their backs on You and the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom You sent to die for their sins. Be merciful to all those in positions of power who are seeking to implement a humanistic and anti-god agenda. Be merciful to those men and women in high places that are seeking to remove all vestiges of Christianity and the One true God from their nation’s laws and rules.
Have mercy on the leaders who have deliberately rejected Your path of truth and justice, and bring them to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.
