In The 5000 Year Leap, Cleon Skousen writes that most Americans in the early years of our Republic truly regarded the Constitution as a miracle, declaring that the formation and adoption of our new system of federal government represented a political achievement unprecedented in human history. It was a miracle because grounded on unchanging Reality, meaning the eternally existing personal Triune Creator of life, Law, Truth, the living souls of humans, and all else that exists (Gen. 1-11):
“…[T]he foundation of all reality is the existence of the eternal Creator, who is the designer of all things in nature and the promulgator of all the laws which govern nature.” (A Miracle that Changed the World: The 5000 Year Leap, Principles of Freedom, p. 101)
Ultimate Reality is not an energy field, the abyss, an androgynous Divine One Substance, the Void, or dialectical matter in motion, as the enemies of God the Father teach and preach. Ultimate Reality is the personal Trinity–God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit– the one true Creator of everything that exists.
As the Constitution is grounded on unchanging Reality, the Founders believed it was destined to bless all mankind, and that it was incumbent on their successors to preserve and defend our national charter:
“If we and our posterity…live always in the fear of God and shall respect His Commandments…we may have the highest hopes of the future fortunes of our country…. But if we…neglect religious instruction and authority; violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the constitution which holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” (Daniel Webster, Address to the New York Historical Society, 1852).
“Doctor Rush then proceeded to consider the origin of the proposed (Constitution), and…deduced it (was) from heaven, asserting that he…believed the hand of God was employed in this work as that God had divided the Red Sea to give passage to the children of Israel, or had fulminated the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai.” (John McMaster and Frederick Stone quoted in The 5,000 Year Leap, p. ii)
“From the day of the Declaration…they (the American people) were bound by the laws of God…and by the laws of the Gospel, which they nearly all acknowledged as the rules of their conduct.” (John Quincy Adams, Secretary of State, The 5,000 Year Leap, p. xviii)
“And because they believed that man was created in the image of God, the American founders could write that all men “are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.” Such thinking would have been preposterous in Hindu India or Confucianist China.” (Vishal Mangalwadi, The Wisdom of Vishal Mangalwadi, Charles Colson, The Catholic Exchange, May 19, 2009)
“Democracy is Christ’s government in church and state,” said President Calvin Coolidge as he quoted John Wise (1710). “Here was the doctrine of equality, popular sovereignty, and the substance of the theory of inalienable rights….When we take all these circumstances into consideration, it is but natural that the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence should open with a reference to Nature’s God and should close…with an appeal to the Supreme Judge of the world and an assertion of a firm reliance on Divine Providence…In its main feature the Declaration of Independence is a great spiritual document. Equality, liberty, popular sovereignty, the rights of man — these are not elements which we can see and touch. They are ideals. They have their source and roots in the religious convictions. They belong to the unseen world. ” (Backfired: A Nation Born for Religious Tolerance No Longer Tolerates Religion, William J. Federer, pp. 270-271)
Man is God’s spiritual image-bearer and, said the brilliant French economist, statesman, and author Frederic Bastiat, this is the gift from God which includes the physical, intellectual and moral life:
“He has provided us with a collection of marvelous faculties. And He has put us in the midst of a variety of natural resources. By application of our faculties to these natural resources we convert them into products, and use them. Life, faculties, production — in other words, individuality, liberty, property — this is man (and) these three gifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.” (How Evil Works, David Kupelian, p. 8)
End of the Blessing
In our time, an overwhelming majority of Westerners and Americans no longer believe in God the Father since in their hearts He is irrelevant. The Triune Creator has been replaced by various idols: ’self,’ scientism, matter (physical and nonphysical), Lucifer, and Darwinism, among other idols.
“The unbelievers in Europe attack the Christians as their political opponents rather than as their religious adversaries; they hate the Christian religion…” De Tocqueville, The 5.000 Year Leap, p.83)
The European unbelievers of that time are now the contemporary enemies of God the Father, Christianity, faithful Christians, all defenders of the Constitution, and Christian grounded Western and American civilization. We know them as Progressive Leftists, Marxists, Democrats, the Deep State, Luciferians, and Globalists
Through their sinister machinations, the eternal Creator has become irrelevant, together with the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo, the two created sexes, Immutable Truth, unchanging Law (Gen. 1-11) and our Constitution. The Genesis account is not just irrelevant, but so offensive to our enemies that citing it is deemed evil.
In place of God the Father, creator of everything that exists, there is now an ongoing evolutionary change process perverting truth, Biblical moral standards, sexual ethics, the two created sexes, traditional marriage, holidays, and traditions. These are being changed and perverted just as all distinctions between non-life forms, life forms and gender are in process of being perverted and blurred in the idea of evolution from molecule to ape to man and woman to homosexual, transgender to androgynous god-man. In the same way, all distinctions between good and evil, truth and lie, nations and religions are being merged.
All of this evil has come upon us because under the guiding influences of our enemies we’ve been drinking deeply from the poisoned well of evolution and ideology. As one consequence, we have turned away from God the Father and Ultimate Reality and fallen into a false reality consisting of a matrix of lies. As another, we have unwittingly turned away from the Constitution, a miraculous blessing grounded on unchanging Reality.
Let us go to our Lord in prayer:
Abba Father, we have sinned; we have turned from You and lost the miraculous blessing You gave us; now our enemies plunder and oppress us; they steal everything and pervert our children. Have mercy on us Lord, we are sinners conceived in sin and unworthy of You. Please Lord, make clean our hearts and bring us back to Your Sovereign rule and wisdom. Take from us our idols and wrong ways of thinking. Forgive us for placing our trust in ‘self’ and ‘self’s’ foolish ways of doing things. Forgive us Lord, we are lost and wander in the wilderness. We need You to find us and bring us home to You.
We beseech You Lord, restore us to Yourself and save us from our sinfulness. Renew our days as of old. Bind us once again by Your Laws and by the laws of the Gospel. Restore to us the blessing of our Constitution and the joy of Your salvation.
May Your kingdom come, and Your Will be done. In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen

Psalm 121
A Song of Ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 He who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and for evermore.
Amen and thank you

My prayers always. God bless.

Today as we look at the great challenge in our government and church as we pray for our nation, let us not ignore our daily challenges from the Lord. For an angry emotional action can ruin the effectiveness our prayers.
Yesterday I listened to a Christian lady tell a funny story about the difficulty of raising a young child, which brought on frustration and an angry response to the child. Then she remembered what her Aunt said, "Ain't no whoop'n like the whoop'n of the Lord.
Her Aunt was given a chance by the Lord to pray for someone in the hospital as she passed by her on a gurney on her way to surgery. She argued with the Lord and didn't do it. The patient died in surgery shortly there after. Her aunt was greatly grieved.
I too have been greatly grieved to the point of bitter tears after being very harsh with a 30 yr old wayward son. That day I felt terrible. I asked the Lord why He was making me sad, I immediately realized it was I that was making Him sad, and I felt immense deep grief in my soul.
So yes, we have huge overwhelming problems to pray about for our nation. But what good does that do if we ignore our own family and neighbors, for they are the building blocks of this nation.
Dear Lord Jesus, as we lift up the many prayer requests to you for our president and nation, may you find our own hearts at peace with you, our families and neighbors and their challenges also.
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
Amen to your Powerful Prayer, Dear Servant of our King.
Praying with you in Heartfelt Agreement.
Amen and thank You, Father, for our Constitution and the foundation our forefathers established for us.
An excellent read . . .especially as Memorial Day approaches. And an AMEN! to your prayer.
