At the General Congregations, the so-called pre-conclave, the cardinals gathered in the Vatican are currently discussing the state of the Church and the profile of the next pope. What "skills" will the next head of the 1.4 billion Catholics need? And what issues will the cardinals be particularly concerned with when they soon retreat to the Sistine Chapel for the Papal election, the Conclave?
"I believe that the issue of abuse will already play a role in the preliminary discussions, the so-called pre-conclave," German child protection expert Hans Zollner told the news agency Kathpress in Rome based on conversations with future papal electors. "The vast majority of cardinals will be aware that the issue is important for the potential candidates and the further development of the Church," said the director of the Institute of Anthropology at the Gregorian University, where he heads the Center for Child Protection.

I think Frankie’s Cardinals are fer it!
LOL - how utterly ironic... to say Sexual abuse must be a key issue... when the Vatican is literally at the very center of global sex trafficking (specifically the trafficking of children). Their ties with the Orsini family are clear - but amazingly the world turns a blind eye to it...
They want more of it?
I’m confused. Either they want more of it or they want it to be an issue.
They need to get honest about a whole lot of things.
Sexual abuse?
Some will want more.
Some will want less.
The “mores” will win.
They’ll get to vote on it I guess.
The state of Traditional Catholic members is fine. It is the state of the vast majority of Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops that is highly concerning. Considering the voting members of the College of Cardinals, I am concerned and worried about out future Roman Catholic Church.
I couldn’t have said that better.
Anyone watch the movie The Conclave on Prime? I thought it was well done until the last 5 minutes. The Cardinals elected a hermaphrodite. At first I was amused then angry for wasting my time watching.
They do this every time with BBC productions. Oh, the acting, it was wonderful ... what a cast! . . . the scenery . . . what a production . . .. and then poof, the end! you’ve been sucker-punched with a grin.
Obviously we’ll never get to listen in, but I’d be surprised if they delve into issues that much. I’m thinking personality outweighs issues.
