Yes Jesus did push back on how they observe the Sabbath but let's be very clear, Did Jesus observe the Sabbath? Yes he did. Yes he did. Now he protected works of mercy on the Sabbath, but he protected the Sabbath. And here it makes it very clear that when we honor the Lord, and his creation, then we honor the pattern that he set. This Methodist pastor is spot on how the Sabbath got changed from the Seventh day to the first day. Spot on. Dr. Samuele Bacchiochi's book, the most researched scholary book on this subject affirms this. He goes on to talk more about the blessings of keeping the Sabbath.

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this. I tried to set up an Adventist Caucus. I don't know if I did it right.....sorry if I didn't.

The Sabbath doctrine is so easy to understand, all one has to do is to count to 7.

Did you know the organist for Billy Graham, Paul Mickelson accepted the Sabbath? After attending a Seventh day Adventist Church in Glendale CA, (our church, I talked to him many times) to help by playng the organ, and hearing the televised messages from Adventist Evangelist John Carter...he ended up accepting the Sabbath. He went with Carter to Russia and saw thousands of communists and Atheists come out and hear about a Christ who loves them and saw thousands become Adventist Christians..former communists and atheists and even members of the KGB!

Not an Adventist. Yet the Catholic Church changed this doctrine, in writing, don’t recall the year. He was found missing on the first day. Of course, they couldn’t go and check on the 7th. So he must have rose that morning.
Off before the start of Pesach, Pesach, preparation day to Sabbath day. 3 days and nights. He rose before dark on the 7th day.

What is sort of bizarre to me as a Protestant is that not a single text in the entire Bible makes Sunday or even Easter a holy day. Don’t get me wrong, I think celebrating Easter can be a blessing.

But nowhere, not a single text makes any first day holy. I had this discussion today at my gym with a Lutheran who believes this is “holy” week. I asked, please, show in the Bible where God made this a “holy” week and or Sunday is “holy”.

He just went on about tradition. So I agreed with him..it’s just tradition of a church. The fact is that only a Holy God can make something holy and in Genesis 2 verses 1 and 2, we read he actually Declared that the seventh day was HOLY.

I mean, it’s right there. And Jesus upheld the Seventh day Sabbath. He went out of his way to exonerate it and restore it to it’s true meaning and blessing.

But unless one understands Prophecy and how God used the Protestant Reformation to lift the church of darkness, they won’t see the importance of restoring the Seventh day Sabbath.

He used great Protestants to restore so many important truths that the whore of babylon buried. She didnt even want people to have the Bible . She’s a bad player and God is going to deal with her for her atrocities. And she will once again have her power to persecute people who don’t conform, we see the world marveling after her again.

Easter is big to her and the world is adoring her this week and there will be unity on common doctrine.

She hates the Seventh day Sabbath because it rebukes her claimed authority. And the Seventh day Sabbath rebukes Darwinism evolution since it commemorates Creation in Genesis.

The Seventh day Sabbath is God’s exclamation point on creation! that is why it is in the heart of the moral law, the 10 commandments because the Creator sets the rules.

This Methodist preacher is correct. The change of the weekly day of rest was a gradual change due to the conflict between Jews and Christians. They didn t like each other so papal Rome changed the weekly holy day. Her catechism is clear and so is her history.

She has traditionally maintained she alone changed it and rightfully claims nowhere does the Bible change it. However, in the past several years, she is softening her position to appeal to evangelicals and citing some Bible verses that she thinks will make it easier to join with Evangelicals as she looks forward to world dominance again.

Since this latest post in your series from the Sabbath cult quickly included the Catholic church, and which you responded to, then the Seventh day Adventist/Protestant Caucus label (quite an invention) should no longer apply. Cultists are provocative even on the basis of essentially claiming to be "one true cult," and are driven to provocatively persist in promoting their elitist aberrations, as you example with your daily sport of specious sophistry.

Therefore such should be dealt with as was done years ago with Mormons who engaged in the same behavior, esp. since the imposed 7th day Sabbath keeping of your prophetess has already been refuted multiple times*, by the grace of God, and yet ignored as per cult behavior, and thus nothing more really is required.

Yeah, you are free to post here, in fact I encourage anyone of any faith to post. We don’t have anything to hide.

And our Biblical foundation for our doctrines are rock solid. So bring any debate you care too. As for Ellen White, she never said she was a prophet.

She said she was a “lesser light (her writings) that lead to a greater light (The Bible).” She elevated Christ and the Bible.

Thats quite different from the Papacy which elevates the church and the priest.

AS for Mormons, good people.....but a different authority, the book of Mormon. They are spiritualists.

Seventh day Adventists are Protestants.....through and through.....Protestants.

Please feel free to post and ask questions in this caucus.

So, listening to this preacher and reading the comments that accompany his YouTube recorded sermon, it would seem that what is being asserted is that acknowledgement of the Sabbath day is the cardinal doctrine of the church, the doctrine by which the church stands or falls, the doctrine which decides whether one is truly Christian or not.

I will stick with justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ the Savior. Looking forward to Easter Sunday.

We have covered this before. Dates or days removed have never affected the 7 day rotation, weekly cycle. NEVER in recorded history.

The United States Naval Observatory is responsible for keeping time and they wrote a letter several years ago upon request and stated there has never been a change in the weekly cycle or rotation. The first day has always been the first day, etc.

This is why our Jewish friends have been keeping the same Seventh day Sabbath since OT times and the same reason Christ himself kept the Seventh day Sabbath.

When we went to the different calender, yes , I believe some days were taken from Februry and given to August for Agustus Ceasar, etc but the 7 day cycle never ever changed. Just the dates......Hope this helps!

Thank you, yes as Protestants, we too accept grace alone through faith alone. And as stated in the Bible, Paul says it is the doers of the law who are justified, not the hearers. Romans 2:13. Obedience to the commandments of God is the fruit of salvation, not the root. Paul called the law holy just and good.

That is why you keep 9 of the 10 commandments. I’ts not the law you have an issue with....just one of the commandments.

Protestants used to keep all 10 commandments back in the day. And for centuries. they believed Sunday was the Lord’s day and I believe God honored that, it was the light they had.

Sadly, protestants today no longer observe the 4th commandment and I think we see the results. A society that is broken. God knew we needed a holy day of rest. to set aside all and commune with him and devote an entire day to him, and it helps everything from family to marriage to communion with God.

But none of this justifies us just as keeping any of the commandments does not justify us. Obedience is the FRUIT of salvation not the root.

Our disagreement is you have taken a commandment out of the 10 commandments. We believe there is nothing wrong with the 10 commandments in their original form. And when Jesus said he Made the Sabbath FOR US, FOR US, FOR US. (mark 2:27).....it’s a blessing!

Ironically the 4th commandment is the only commandment that says rest..and here you all think it’s work!
