Loving God,
You satisfy our longing souls. What a privilege it is to take everything to You in prayer. We are blessed beyond measure because You are our God, and we thank You for the opportunity to gather here in faith with others across this nation as we open our hearts to You.
Sometimes we pause and think about all the times You have rescued us----times when we were aware of Your hand holding us back, and times when we were completely unaware of what You did to prevent disaster in our lives. We simply marvel at Your faithfulness, Your mercy, and Your grace. Thank You, Father.
Thank You, Lord, for this Labor Day weekend. As we think about the works that Jesus Christ has done and the Spirit’s works in us, help us to remember them with grateful hearts. And help us to occupy here on this earth until our Savior’s return. Lord, let us become powerful, Spirit-led disciples of Christ. Give us a passion for the lost, and help us Lord to hasten the day of Your return by working daily to lead others and to You. May the angels in heaven rejoice over every soul that hears and responds to the good news of salvation for all those who will believe and accept this priceless Gift.
We pray that Your right hand continues to defend President Trump against those who would harm him, for surely they are great in number and emboldened by the devil. Please help him to be wise through Your wisdom and discerning through the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You for every creative idea You place in his heart to address the problems our nation faces.
Lord, we ask You to bring peace through revival to America. Restore our commitment to You. We cannot comprehend a time when our need for You has been more acute than right now. Help us to honor You by spending time in Your presence each day. Bless Your people Israel, and may Your Name be glorified in our commitment to her people. Thank You, Father for Your amazing grace and our Savior’s perfect, finished work of the cross. In the Name above all names---Jesus Christ, our Lord we pray, Amen.

And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;

to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.

And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
