I’m pretty sure Jesus dressed in rags and doesn’t care if I wear a tuxedo or not
Flip flops on men
Nothings worse
…and God will be more impressed with us if we’re properly attired.
Okay. Un-huh. Right.
I can’t speak for other denominations but I’ve said this in mine.
Unless you are a Franciscan, men should not wear sandals to Mass.
Please show us the Bible verse where Jesus wore bling
Should upgrade to the Apostle-approved sandals.
… but it is important not to be stumbling blocks for the weaker brothers and sisters who think God is looking at your garb instead of your heart.
That’s true.
When I had to fly, I would always cringe when seeing passengers traveling in flip-flops.
I always dressed like the plane was gonna crash in the middle of the wilderness.
Do the same for church.
"I'm with Jesus" rather than "I'm with Stupid" Tee-Shirts?
Darwin loves flip-flops!
Attending a public ceremony unwashed and ungroomed communicates a lack of respect for your fellow man.
But is going to church looking slovenly better than not going at all?
Among the social changes starting in the ‘60s, were that people don’t get dressed up for church anymore. School dress codes went away and that has also happened in the workplace .
Yes, if you need to be in a church “now” then go inside as a homeless man or having slept in your drinking clothes, or coming off that painting job or whatever, but if you are a normal church attender then when you are dressing for it that morning put on some shoes and slacks or clean blue jeans and a button shirt at least, it is a planned function that you are attending and a little aura is attached to it.
