Our Father in Heaven
Blessed and Holy is Your Most Wonderful Name!
Thank You For You Precious Word,
Which Continues to teach us to this present day.
How Wonderful that these Words
leap from the Pages time and again to show us Your Will!
We Pray that You will Keep us from Temptation
and from the leaven of sin.

I'm going to relate a conversation that took place just last night. You may think it has nothing to do at all with Today's Scripture, but in the end, you will see the connection.

A couple, who we will call Joe and Sally sat down at our table at the Open Mike, after putting Sally's name on the list. I noticed that Joe had a T-Shirt with a Ducati Motorcycle on it, and the following ensued:

ME: "Ooo. I love your shirt. Ducati is a nice bike. I used to have a Honda CX650 that had the same engine configuration, the transversal V-Twin. It was a lovely bike but a little top heavy for me."

JOE: "A Nighthawk. That was a Honda Nighthawk."

ME: "No, the Nighthawk doesn't have the transversal V-Twin. It wasn't a Nighthawk."

SALLY: "Stop 'mansplaining', Joe. You KNOW people don't like that."

SIS: "Joe, don't mess with ML when it comes to her motorcycles."

JOE: "That motorcycle she's talking about doesn't exist. I can't find in on Google" (scroll scroll scroll on the phone) "Is it this one?" (Shoves his phone in my face)

ME: (about to say something I shouldn't) "Excuse me I have to go to the ladies room." (leaves the table)

When I get back, he's still scrolling, clueless as to how angry I am.

JOE: (shoves his phone in my face) "It must be a Nighthawk, because THERE'S NO SUCH THING as a Honda CX650. It's NOT on Google."

At that point, I blew my top. "OK I WAS LYING! I AM A LIAR! I DON"T KNOW HOW TO DO ANYTHING BUT LIE! I can't stand it when people fact check me with their phones when I'm just trying to have a conversation."

He immediately apologized, and I did too. The rest of the evening was fine and dandy.

But I lost sleep last night, tossing and turning about the HONDA CX650. Did I somehow misremember it? Was the model number off , even by one letter? Am I losing it? I am, after all, 71, and maybe am I getting memory issues? I began to doubt my sanity. I vowed that, first thing in the morning, even before I do Today's Thread, I would look up the motorcycle and see if it was a different name or model than I remembered.

All the time I was walking Tippy, I mulled it over in my head. Was it a Honda? Was it a 650? Was it a Transversal V-Twin? Was the designation CX? I ran through the whole alphabet in my head, from A to Z, to see if any other designation rang a bell, but "CX650" kept ringing out loud and clear. Please God, don't let me lose my mind!

After feeding Tippy, having my breakfast and doing my Bible Reading for the Day, I opened up my search engine (NOT Google!) and entered 1985 Honda CX650. It came right up. There were some Nighthawks in there too, but the CX650 is a different bike entirely. It was classified as a "Cafe Racer" after the European Bikers who would rode these neat little bikes from one cafe to the next. AND...it looked just like a Ducati, which was Italian and very big with the Eurokids. For a brief time in the 1980's, the Japanese manufacturers attempted to cash in on this trend, and my Honda CX650 was part of that experiment. That's what the "X" in the name stood for. This is an exact copy of my 1980's ride:



Why didn't Google have it? I have no idea, but Duck Duck Go had hundreds of pictures. I thought that Google was supposed to have EVERYTHING, from A-to-Z on it. Many people, like Joe, have the notion that, if it's not on Google, it doesn't exist. To them, it is the Final Authority on all matters, from the Beginning to the End. But, Google, Wikipedia, AI, and even Duck Duck Go are all just applications, a series of binary on/off code that has to be programmed by a human being. Humans have their own prejudices, their own likes and dislikes, and their own ethics. As the old saying goes "Garbage In, Garbage Out". If the programmer has a bias, it will be reflected in the product. That being said, I have no idea why Google would be biased against the Honda CX650, LOL. But I thank My God that I am NOT going insane. Not yet, anyway.

Today's name is "The Alpha and The Omega". It is preceded by I AM, the Holy Name For God that He revealed to Moses at the Burning Bush. In English, "Alpha and Omega" means "A-to-Z". In Hebrew, it is "Aleph Tav" which was the very FIRST Name we discussed in the very first line of Genesis. See how it all comes together?
