Whilst the CDF’s survey was taking place, the Vatican consistently downplayed fears that the Latin Mass would be restricted. But Pope Francis’ claim – that the survey revealed widespread concern about the traditional Mass – has been consistently disputed as not aligning with the facts, or of even inverting the survey’s true result.

What language was his 2021 document, “Traditionis Custodes”, written in?

The traditional Mass used to be looked down upon because it was thought that it was just about "the smells and bells" and was not appreciated for any greater significance.

Now it is banned precisely because those who treasure it, don't merely treasure it for "the smells and bells" but because it represents the official Magisterium of the Church and not the bastardized post Vatican II conciliar church.

Also, how conciliar is a church when it won't reconcile with the traditionalists?

In the areas where I have lived and traveled, the TLM has enjoyed strong support even from bishops who have reputations as unapologetic leftists.

Someone explained to me that there are two simple reasons for this:

1. The TLM communities are flourishing even as these bishops are closing parishes and schools.

2. The TLK communities are very generous with their time and money.

Over the years, the amount of flak over the authentic, intentional Catholic target of Dogma, Tradition, Liturgy, Music, Teaching, and Praxis is quite telling with the pontificate of Franciscus.

That is what I was just going to reply. All of the documents’ names seem to be in Latin - even those forbidding the Latin Mass.

It seems, somehow, oxymoronic - like everything of the Left.

In defense of the unity of the Body of Christ

In light of Fiducia Supplicans, this becomes absolutely laughable. +Francis is perfectly willing to throw unity in the dumpster when it gets in the way.

The official text of Papal documents is almost always Latin, even if they are originally composed in some other language and then translated.

A notable exception is Pius XI's Mit Brennender Sorge ("With Burning Sorrow"), an encyclical to the bishops of Germany condemning Nazism.

According to St. Alphonsus the anti Christ will try to restrict
and destroy the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Well, Latin Mass is kind of like “Tongues”.

The language of the Holy Spirit that God understands, and the mind of man cannot.

Which is why the pope objects to it.

He is the unholy unspirit.

“Anybody can understand Latin within a year or two.”

Approximately 70% or so of the English language derives from Latin...

Only a little.

Why does the pope not like the Latin Mass?

I say it puts one closer to the traditional and closer to the original.

And the pope wants to change, limit, and erase both.

So Latin is ‘kind of like’ Tongues to him - a connection to God that he does not/ can not allow.
