If Modern Israel Is Not Biblical Israel, Then Why Is The God Of The Bible Protecting It?
Harbingers Daily ^ | 11/27/23 | Amir Tsarfati

All throughout the modern history of Israel – the hand of God in rescuing the remnant from the gas chambers and the death camps in Europe; the hand of God in bringing them back to a land that once was a barren wasteland and now is one of the most fertile grounds in the world; the hand of God in reviving the old forgotten Hebrew language as the only means of communication between people that come from more than 80 different diasporas; the hand of God in making sure that the efforts to destroy the newborn state will fail.

God’s hand was all throughout the history of Israel as a newborn state, and for the past more than 66 years, God is there. The Bible says that, “He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” The people of Israel are strong and resilient. The people of Israel have seen the great hand of God in protecting and providing everything they needed. And we’re holding onto the promise that God gave to Israel through the prophet Amos in the ninth chapter of his book: “‘And I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land that I have given them,’ says the Lord your God. Amen.”

At its birth in 1948, the nation of Israel was invaded by five armies who proclaimed a jihad, vowing to destroy Israel and spill every drop of their own blood, if necessary. When attacked, Israel did not own one tank or cannon and had nine outdated aircraft. The five invading armies were repelled, and Israel survived and even thrived.

Before the Six-Day War of 1967, President Nasser of Egypt announced, “The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel…to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan, and the whole Arab nation. This act will astound the world. Today they will know that the Arabs are arranged for battle, the critical hour has arrived. We have reached the stage of serious action and not declarations.”

President Abdur Rahman Aref of Iraq joined in the war of words, saying, “The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. This is our opportunity to wipe out the ignominy which has been with us since 1948. Our goal is clear — to wipe Israel off the map.” On June 4, Iraq joined the military alliance with Egypt, Jordan, and Syria.

The Arab rhetoric was matched by the mobilization of Arab forces. Approximately 250,000 troops (nearly half in Sinai), more than 2,000 tanks, and 700 aircraft surrounded Israel. Yet again, outnumbered, outgunned, surrounded, and facing seemingly insurmountable odds, it took just six days for Israel to be victorious. East Jerusalem was taken, and the sound of these words resonated throughout the county: “The Temple Mount is in our hands!”

On October 6, 1973 — Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar — Egypt and Syria opened a coordinated surprise attack against Israel. Approximately 180 Israeli tanks faced an onslaught of 1,400 Syrian tanks. Along the Suez Canal, fewer than 500 Israeli defenders were attacked by 80,000 Egyptians (from the Jewish Virtual Library). Yet Israel was again victorious.

Even with all this clear evidence that Israel is once again a nation by the providence and promises of God, here we are again today with Israel under attack by those who hate the Jews.

Zechariah 12:3 KJV – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

The fact that what we are watching is spiritual in nature is proven by the world’s seeming indifference to rape, torture, and murder, as long as it is against the Jews. Sadly, many within the church have joined those labeling the Jews as occupiers and excusing the actions of the Palestinian terrorists as justified because of their oppression. Some do so under a banner proclaiming that modern Israel is not biblical Israel.

Genesis 12:3 KJV – “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Genesis 12:7 KJV – “And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.”

Genesis 17:18-19 KJV – “And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”

If modern Israel is not Biblical Israel, then why is the God of the Bible protecting it from those who want to annihilate its people? The answer is simple: He made the covenant, and it is His name and Word that is on the line.

In the famed passage of Genesis 12:3, we see a warning of curses followed by a promise of blessings which still stands true and is manifesting itself today. God said that through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would come the Holy One of Israel, our Savior, and the world is still blessed by Him today. But if the promise is still true, the warning is as well.

The interesting thing about the warning is that “curse” and “curses” are two different Hebrew words. The word “curse” means “to treat bitterly.” The word “curses” means “to make light of or think little of.” In paraphrase, what we are told is those who think little of Israel will be treated bitterly by God for doing so.

History has proven this to be true concerning the modern nation of regathered Jews into their national homeland. It will be proven again in the current conflict, and, soon, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against Jerusalem, it will be proven again then too!

Zechariah 12:8-9 KJV – “In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

Matthew 21:43Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
44He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed.

second pers. sing. pers. pronoun

Jesus was addressing "the chief priests and the elders of the people" not the nation of Israel, which endures forever.

The kingdom of God (authority) would be taken from "you, singular" (perhaps looking the Chief/High Priest in the eye ?) and given to Gentiles, who otherwise were excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, not replacing Israel as the Apostle of the Gentiles taught the Gentiles who believe.

Ephesians 2:

[11] Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
[12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Romans 11:

[25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
[26] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
[27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28] As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
[29] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

, "them" (Israelites, sons of Jacob, House of Israel and House of Judah)

God's promises and love for Israel is eternal, as long as the the ordinances of heaven and earth last (Jeremiah), and even when those eventually fall, even so His love for Israel endures (Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.) and the Gentiles who are genuine Christians, who love the Jews, will rejoice; the others will be ashamed.

Matthew 24:
[34] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
[35] Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

[36] But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

——>Jesus was addressing “the chief priests and the elders of the people” not the nation of Israel, which endures forever.

Certainly not.

My proof is here, in this video. But by all means, please keep reading.

https://youtu.be/4WvoacGLePI

Notice this: Matthew 21:43Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a PEOPLE who will produce its fruit.

Addressed to the LEADERS of literal Israel...taken away from literal Israel, and then given to A PEOPLE WHO WILL PRODUCE ITS FRUIT, the Gentiles.

Daniel’s 70 week prophecy gave literal Israel 490 years to repent. That ended AT EXACTLY 3.5 years after Christ was crucified. The Gospel FIRST went to the Jews, literal Israel until the final straw, the stoning of Stephen and the leaders absolute refusal to repent and accept Christ as their Messiah. The Gospel then went to the Gentiles.

https://www.biblelightinfo.com/dan927.htm

Dan 9:24

This verse sets the goals of the 70 week prophecy of Daniel.

(A) “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,”

- This sets the time period at 70 weeks. It is generally accepted here that you must use the day = year prophecy formula (Num 14:34, Ezek 4:6), yielding a time period of 490 years from start to completion.

- The word determined here actually means “cut off”. This 70 weeks are cut off from, or begin at the same time as, the larger 2300 day (year) prophecy of Dan 8:14, which has as it’s focus the cleansing of the sanctuary in heaven, the beginning of Judgment. So both the 70 week (490 year) and the 2300 day (year) prophecy begin at the same date. Note that you can not arbitrarily apply the year for a day principle in one case and not another, you must remain consistent. Dan 8:26 strongly hints that the 2300 day prophecy in verse 14 is not just 2300 days, but many days more than it literally indicates. This would also support using year instead of day.

(B) “to finish the transgression (rebellion),”

- Meaning to the Jews: end your transgression of (rebellion against) God’s Law and return to obedience.
- Alludes to the victory of Jesus Christ over transgression at the cross.

(C) “and to make an end of sins,”

- Meaning to the Jews: repent from sin.
- Alludes to the victory of Jesus Christ over sin at the cross.

(D) “and to make reconciliation for iniquity,”

- Meaning to the Jews: Atonement for sins through sacrificial temple ceremonies (symbolic of Jesus).
- Alludes to the reconciliation for iniquity by Jesus Christ at the cross.

(E) “and to bring in everlasting righteousness,”

- Alludes to the death of Jesus the Messiah at the cross making everlasting righteousness available to all with faith. Without His death at the cross we are all condemned to the second death. By His death on the cross, the requirement of the Law was met and His everlasting righteousness established. Psa 119:142

(F) “and to seal up the vision and prophecy,”

- To fulfill / complete the prophesies of the 70 weeks (the dates of Messiah’s / Jesus’ baptism and crucifixion). Because Daniel predicted these historical events of the 70 weeks with absolute accuracy, we can also trust that the 2300 day (year) prophecy is just as accurate.

(G) “and to anoint the most Holy.”

- As the earthly temple was anointed in Lev 8:10-11, so the heavenly temple was anointed by Jesus as he assumed the role of our High Priest, on his return to heaven. Also, Jesus himself was anointed as the Messiah at His Baptism (Mat 3:16, Mark 1:9, Luke 3:21).

So verse 24 has set the goals of the 70 week prophecy of Daniel. The twofold focus of the prophecy: first on the Jews reconciling themselves with God within the appointed time (490 years), and second, Jesus being baptized and paying the price of sin at the cross for us and becoming our High Priest. Note that there is nothing in verse 24 referring to the millennial kingdom, or the antichrist, or a seven year tribulation and there is nothing to indicate the 490 years are anything but a continuous period of time that ended in 34 A.D.

My proof is here, in the scriptures, Matt 21:23,45 :

[23] And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

[45] And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

There were about 300 prophesies fulfilled at the time of Jesus’
3 year ministry.

There are about 3 TIMES that many about these last days.

Or End Times, whatever is preferred to call these times.

Interesting that the questions raised in the title are answered in the text of the article.

The covenant made by God with Israel was and always will be honored by God.

The land is His.

Jerusalem is the center of the earth/world; Geographically AND Spirituly.

It is his special city, His Name is on it.

When most of Revelation is fulfilled, the New Jerusalem will come down from Heaven to be, imo, where our “Many Mansions” are.

Eternity is gonna be...well words cannot express its splendor!

No need for Sun moon and stars to light up where we are, for all the light we need will be emitted from our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

✝️

Jesus has been our High Priest since before the foundations of the world.

Long before he stepped into time.

Read the Bible

Do a search.

Christians are well aware of it.

I’ll find it for you later if you can’t find it.

The whole Bible can be read easily in 6 weeks.

I cannot articulate it any better than how you laid it out.

The replacement theology (Antisemitic IMHO) crowd have much to learn.

If Jesus cancels Israel, He can and will cancel us.

I’m looking forward to the New Jerusalem - I can’t imagine it, but I try :)

---->Jesus was addressing "the chief priests and the elders of the people" NOT THE NATION OF ISRAEL, which endures forever.

The question is “what/who is Israel?”

LITERAL Israel and it’s vinedressers, the Jewish leadership

SPIRITUAL Israel, and it’s vinedressers, the Christian church, those in Christ Jesus

Earthly literal Israel and the Jewish nation are finished, forever. (literal nation of Israel, CORPORATE JEWISH NATION)

There is no more a LITERAL nation of Israel, ruled by Jewish leadership.

(Nation: a country considered as a body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular area or territory:)

The following was written by Pastor Stephen Bohr (same guy from the video).

Israel as a Vineyard

Matthew 21:33-46:

"Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner [God the Father] who planted a vineyard [Israel] and set a hedge around it [the law], dug a winepress in it and built a tower [the temple]. And he leased it to vinedressers [the Jewish leaders] and went into a far country [heaven].

34 Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers [before the Babylonian captivity], that they might receive its fruit. 35 And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another [what they did to the prophets].

36 Again he sent other servants [after the captivity until John the Baptist], more than the first, and they did likewise to them. 37 Then last of all he sent his son [Jesus] to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' 38 "But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him [the death of Christ] and seize his inheritance.' 39 "So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard [Jesus died outside of Jerusalem] and killed him. 40 Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?" 41 They said to Him, "He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers [the Gentiles] who will render to him the fruits in their seasons." 42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?

43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you [THE KINGDOM NO LONGER BELONGS TO LITERAL ISRAEL] and given to a nation [ethne] BEARING THE FRUITS OF IT. 44 And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder." 45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them.”

Matthew 3:8, 10: John called upon God’s people TO BEAR FRUIT that flows from repentance, that is, to live a sanctified life:

“Therefore BEAR FRUITS worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves: 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not BEAR GOOD FRUIT is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

John 15:8: “By this My Father is glorified, THAT YOU BEAR MUCH FRUIT; so you will be My disciples.”

The Guiding Principle: When we are dealing with literal Israel we deal with a literal person on a local stage. When we are dealing with spiritual Israel we are dealing with a movement of people on a worldwide scale.

Some Very Important Conclusions If God’s true Israel today is not the literal Jewish nation and if Israel is to be understood as spiritual and worldwide, then those who are looking to the Middle East for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy setting themselves up for a great deception. The final war will not be fought between the Arabs and the Jews but rather between those who have truly accepted Jesus and those who have not. This must mean that all the ‘Jewish language’ of the book of Revelation must be interpreted as applying to the Church on a global scale. The final war against the remnant of the woman’s Seed will be a worldwide war against the remnant of Jesus.

The question is “what/who is Israel?”

Romans 9:5
[1] I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
[2] That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
[3] For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
[4] Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
[5] Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Be careful, belonging to a modern cult can be more than ignorance.

Remember Balaam.

Revelation 2:14
[14] But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

4. Israelites. Paul does not call them “Hebrews,” which would distinguish them by language, nor “Jews,” which would mark them by race. He uses, instead, the title that designates their position as the chosen people of God. As descendants of Jacob, who received from God the name “Israel,” they are heirs of the promises given to the fathers (Eph. 2:12). In the NT the title is transferred to the Christian church, which Paul speaks of as “the Israel of God” (Gal. 6:16).

Adoption. See on ch. 8:15. Here the term implies the relationship between God and Israel announced in Ex. 4:22, “Israel is my son, even my firstborn” (cf. Deut. 14:1; Deut. 32:6; Jer. 31:9; Hosea 11:1). The call of Abraham and his seed to be God’s peculiar people marked the beginning of this “adoption.” See Vol. IV, pp. 25–27.

The glory. See on ch. 3:23. In this case the reference seems to be to the visible token of the presence of God. This was seen in the pillar of cloud and fire, the blazing light on Mt. Sinai, the Shekinah in the tabernacle and in the first Temple (see Ex. 16:10; 24:16; 40:34, 35; 1 Sam. 4:22; 1 Kings 8:10, 11; Heb. 9:5). Only Israel among all the nations had been privileged to have such a manifestation of God’s presence. See on John 1:14.

Covenants. These are “the covenants of promise” to which the Gentiles were “strangers” (Eph. 2:12, 13; see also Gen. 17:2, 7, 9; Ex. 2:24). The Jews seemed to regard these covenants as placing God under obligation to favor them with divine protection and blessing. At the same time they ignored their own obligations and failed to fulfill the conditions upon which the covenants were based.

Giving of the law. The reference is doubtless to the laws given at Sinai. Israel, above all other nations, had been favored with a revelation of God’s will (Deut. 4:8; Neh. 9:13, 14). Paul has already rebuked the Jews for assuming that the mere possession of the law, without obedience, would bring blessing (see Rom. 2:17–29).

Service of God. Gr. latreia, translated “divine service” in Heb. 9:1. The reference is doubtless to the service of the sanctuary (see Heb. 9:6, where latreia is again translated “service of God”). Since the whole purpose of the ceremonial system was to develop a holy people and to teach them the provisions of God’s plan of righteousness by faith in the coming Redeemer, the Israelites had been highly favored by being entrusted with the “service of God.” But this privilege had been seriously abused (see Matt. 21:13; John 2:14–16).

Promises. These are especially the OT promises concerning the Messiah and His kingdom and Israel’s glorious future (see also Acts 26:6; Gal. 3:16, 21; Heb. 7:6).
