This week, Israel’s cabinet approved a peace deal brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. The agreement is for the release of hostages that were seized by Hamas on October 7 in exchange for a pause in the fighting in Gaza.
What does this truce between Israel and Hamas mean for the current war in Israel and for the future?
The agreement will result in the release of about 50 Israeli hostages, consisting of women and children, in exchange for a four-day truce in Israel’s air and ground campaign. There’s a potential for an extension, with ten hostages released each extra day.
Now, think about that for a moment. That’s going to put Israel’s leaders to the test. After four days for 50 hostages, they are then going to have to decide whether they want to give another day. Each day that goes by is going to allow Hamas time to reform, regroup, and resupply. You’re going to have an outcry in Israel.
As you can imagine, if that was one of your family members held captive, you’re going to be saying, “Well, it’s just one more day, and ten more of these hostages can be released.” This will prolong the conflict, no doubt. However long this truce ends up lasting, it’s going to allow Hamas a lot of time to make further preparations.

End Times Ping
Great article regarding the current situation in the Middle East by Dr. Hitchcock.
FReemail me if you wish to be added to or removed from The End Times Ping List.
Maranatha!
It’s just a matter of time
Few can believe it
But look how quickly things changed with Jared
The timing just wasn’t right
But it has people hoping it will happen
Hamas has never adhered to any long term agreement. It’s time to eliminate the irritant and either turn Gaza into a part of Israel or make it a glass parking lot. Given the behavior of Hamas in the past, those are the only two options that Hamas can understand.
There’s a political will to make it happen - so eventually it will happen.
Jared might even think he’s just the guy to make it happen.
The world is craving leadership in a time where there isn’t any.
Informative history in the article. Islam’s proxy states attain the objectives of policy. Two steps forward, one step back. Jihad continues apace. Can peace with Islam ever be achieved? If the rest of the world is properly subdued, then there will be peace.
“those are the only two options that Hamas can understand.”
I don’t think they do. You give them too much credit. How can any intelligent person or persons not undertand that you can’t annihilate a religous theory through murder or rape? How can any human with any capacity wish to die when there is nothing to gain? How can any person in their right mind not see the impossibility thus futility in it?
You’re not dealing with people here. These are subhuman animals that will try to kill and harm as they are dying. They use people to gain their means whether it is destructive or not and the end is their reward for the destruction of man. And they don’t care. And it’s all they know. If you had a dog that tried to kill everyone, what would become of it? Same/same.

I’ve never seen anyone get so far so quickly
They’ve been trying since Jimmy Carter with Sadat and Begin
It was among the first things that Obama tried to accomplish
Be interesting to see where the current conflict leads
And the idiots will give Biden a Nobel Peace Prize for stabbing Isreal in the back.
Great historical text detailing the previous wars and conflicts since 1948.
Israel continually finds itself between a rock and a hard point.
Attacks from every side, all while outside forces are demanding they concede and agree to compromise, only to find the agreements broken in the near future by their enemies.
We know there will not be true peace until Jesus returns. We also know there will be a false peace.
I can’t imagine what it would be like living in Israel as a Jew. For those who are devout, I give them credit for maintaining their faith.
But...just as for any other being, in order to have Eternal peace, one must repent and accept Jesus Christ as Saviour while a person still has breath to make that confession of Faith.
For all others, Gentile and Jews, without that Confession, things will get much much worse until the Risen Saviour returns.
So great a conflict that Jesus described it as this:
Matthew 24:21-22
King James Version
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
And as bad as that will be, it would be a cake walk compared to Eternity without making peace with the True Messiah.
Thanks for posting Brother, see you soon in the clouds!
Thank you. Mark Hitchcock is one of the best, most-centered, most-informed analysts on eschatology.. No “wackle-doodle.” I agree with him that this is setting the stage for the needed Agreement. Today’s breakdown lends even more credence to that view — that a fail-safe mediation will be required.
I always appreciate your posts brother!
I love Dr. Hitchcock and his no-nonsense and straight to the point approach.
The world is inching dangerously close to Daniel’s 70th week.
——>The world is inching dangerously close to Daniel’s 70th week.
Ummmmm, that already happened, right after week 69. God doesn’t chop a prophetic week (7 years) out of a prophetic time period, STOP ALL PROPHECY for 2000 years, then BAM!, the 70th week. Nope.
REMEMBER, the first 70 weeks, 490 CONTINUOUS years, is the first part of the longer 2300 day/year prophecy, which ended October 22, 1844. Hmmmm...
I personally don’t see Egypt engaging in a war with Israel in Psalm 83 (if that is indeed a prophetic war).
Isaiah 19:19-20 also says this:
“In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.”
Isaiah 19:21-22 continues:
“Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it. And the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.”
And further to your point about Assyria:
Isaiah 19:23-25:
“In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
Our Lord is Mighty to Save!
“You found the verses I was looking for!”
👍
“And for the rest, I have never bought into the Psalm 83 war either. Much of that type of stuff $ell$$ books for hucksters.”
Probably, I’m keeping options open - but we’ll see. There’s a lot going on now to keep everybody guessing.
