I think I recall Jesus saying something about this when HE was asked a certain question...
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Most of them need LOTS of them!!
Oh; I see...
![]() 'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, ' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less.' 'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
Call no man father.
In Rome, Pope Pius XI strongly condemned the naturism movement throughout the early 1930s, calling it "paganly immodest".[12] This prompted the head of the New York Legion of Decency, former New York Catholic Governor and presidential candidate Alfred E. Smith, to try to outlaw all nudism. A recent court ruling had declared private social nudity to be legal per current law. Eventually, their efforts failed in the state legislature.[12] After Boone's passing in the late 1960s, the ASA became more secular, along with American society in general. In 1994, the ASA was renamed as the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), which has its headquarters in Florida.[13]
Pope John Paul II began his papacy in 1978, becoming the first non-Italian pope in four and a half centuries.[14] His views on naturism differed substantially from that of his predecessors. Authoring the book Love and Responsibility (1981),[15] he wrote: "Nakedness itself is not immodest [...] Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person, when its aim is to arouse concupiscence, as a result of which the person is put in the position of an object for enjoyment".[16]
I wonder...
...which pope is(was) right?
I was just a bit stumped by your continuing rejection of basic RC teaching on Papal Supremacy/infallibility.

You have a complete misunderstanding of the meaning and scope of Papal Supremacy and infallibility. Instead of displaying your ignorance regarding same, if you can read why don’t you make an effort to find reliable source materials so you don’t make statements that reveal such stupidity?
Wow, nice to meet you too! (Not). Instead of throwing out insults you sould throw out some info./links to support your opinion...here are some to get you started:

Drago me boy I’ve never known anyone more likely to experience the fires of Hell. And thumping that Bible of yours won’t make a bit of difference.
“Weak Sauce” my friend....post some supporting links/info. or it’s off to the confessional for your lack of Papal respect! :-0

I have the same respect for the dude who is currently soiling the Chair of Peter that I do for you, Drago, which isn’t a hell of a lot! Why? Well because for one thing, it’s obvious neither of you understand the differences between the Catholic faith, the Catholic Church, and the Catholic Church Episcopacy.
Ok, you’re the expert I guess, but perhaps you should try out an Orthodox Catholic church near you…it’s “the Roman Catholic church without the infallible all-powerful Pope” The concept that caused that whole 1054 “schism” thing in the first place and the thing that is causing a lot of Roman Catholic FReepers to risk heresy by doubting the legitimacy/infallibility of the current RC Pope. In any case, best of luck in ridding yourself of your not so welcome leader! ;-)

For about six years while my father was in residence at the Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor in D.C., I attended the Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of The Holy Family. For the last 35 years following a couple of decades as a lapsed RC, I have been devout member of the traditional Latin Mass community of the SSPX.
I have the utmost respect and admiration for the Orthodox Catholic Communion of Churches around the world, so the websites you’ve passed on to me are much appreciated. By the way, several years ago I spent time in prayer at the Cathedral of the Savior on Spilled Blood while in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Great to know that you have experienced other expressions of the Catholic tradition! I have some distant relatives (1800’s) of the Serbian Orthodox tradition and we attend their local St. Peter’s yearly fundraiser event (good food & fellowship).
Just be on the lookout for the FBI informants! ;-)

A little late to worry about that now, they probably have a dossier on me with as many pages as the KJV! My good friend who lives in Florida, retired law enforcement and FBI contract agent, trained all the Ushers at his church on proper procedure in the event they’re invaded by local lunatics during the liturgy. Couple of years ago he and I visited the Orthodox monasteries at Meteora in Greece. Awesome!
