Dear friends; Get out your Bibles and dive deep into this amazing Audio message on the Two Witnesses of Revelation by Dr. John Whitcomb! See who they are and what they will do!
Maranatha!
I think the two witnesses would be people of the present time and the connection to OT figures like Enoch and Elijah is probably symbolic not literal. Are the two witnesses yet active, in other words, are we into their 1260 days of witness despite tribulations? Only if two people now alive know that they are witnessing. I would not say this is definite or obvious but we do seem to be well advanced into end times so it cannot be ruled out, perhaps it is something to be revealed later.
A clue would be what the two witnesses are actually witnessing to, which would appear in context to be the imminent nature of the second coming and the Kingdom. Revelation account of the activity of the two witnesses ends with passages that are parallel to similar scenes that lead to the second coming, and also witnesses are said to be “my two witnesses” by Jesus in giving John of Patmos the vision.
Their death in the street of the “great city” is often interpreted to be Jerusalem, yet nowadays, Jerusalem in no sense really has authority over kings of the earth, the only city that has any such position today is New York City and that only in the rather limited sense that it hosts the United Nations with its rather weak power over nations (one could say almost non-existent power). Also New York City is a fairly good proxy for the central power of globalism, and that is an ideology with considerable power over kings of the nations.
So I would say the most likely identity of two witnesses would be two individuals who have spoken in public about the superior nature of the Kingdom to the world system of globalism. That is not an obvious identifier but could include almost anybody reading this. Got plans to visit New York City?
Personally, I think we are well into the 1260 days (Daniel states in parallel to Revelation that 1260 days precedes the destruction) and that the 1260 days are a subset of the 1290 (abomination that makes desolate, an event and period confirmed by Jesus to disciples).
I don’t foresee a timetable of 1260, followed by 1290 more days. Some do, and place the Rapture at end of 1260 days, before the period of abomination(s). I also believe the blessing of 1335 days is meshed into the 1260 and 1290 day countdown, so it comes 45 days after abomination(s) and 75 days after destruction/death of witnesses.
We could be a long way into this countdown. Biden’s presidency could represent the concurrent evil of 1260 days against which the witnesses are prophesying. It all depends on how literal or symbolic the prophecy is. Biden has been president for three years now. One could time his days as starting from nomination since the election was clearly stolen and therefore of no actual value in timing his rule; in fact he more or less announced in advance that the election would be stolen and he would win by fraud. Only the current “establishment” failed to notice, all of us did.
I would go so far as to say it will happen soon, the fulfilment of prophecy, and it will become obvious then. I don’t think we are past 1260 days but it could be one of those things where hindsight shows that we were; the 1290 days would be less easy to hide in coded language to be revealed later, and the 1335 days will definitely be an open event obvious to everybody.
So perhaps past 1260 days, probably not past 1290 days, definitely not past 1335, is how I would look at this evolving situation. All other aspects of prophecy seem to be in place (beast, dragon, false prophet, harlot, possible approach to Armageddon, etc).
Bump
Enoch and Elijah.
Moses and Elijah appeared at the transfiguration. The miracles described in Revelation align with those performed through Moses and Elijah.
I think of the Old Testament which speaks of God creating the world, sin in Adam and the prophecy of the coming Messiah. The second being the New testament which tells of the Arrival of the Messiah, His triumph over sin and He is the Way, the Truth and the (everlasting)Life if you believe upon Him. Those are the witnesses God has already sent us.
Bkmk
My money is on Elijah, representing the Prophets, and Moses, representing the Law. I base that on their appearance at the Transfiguration, and who better to be there in the Time of Jacob’s Trouble? But it’s just a guess.
Thanks for sharing; Why Enoch?
Jimmy; Dr. Whitcomb was the man; right Brother?!
😂. ☝️
Facts! Hear ye my beloved Son;
A question… What does it mean to love as God; Who is Love; loves?
Yeah; we just went to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky and Ken Ham gave Dr. Whitcomb his own lecture room; name after him in remembrance of his love for the Lord; Dr. W always for the rapture; he ended every message or began every message that way;
Maranatha!

yes he waqs, great guy.
funny story, he announced a new creationist book by Marvin Leubenow at a conference, I forgot the author/title, so I asked george if I could contact him.
George gave me his number, I called, left a message.
He called back.
Collect.
Not a joke.
"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." 1 John 5:2-3
Most Christian scholars have always said one of the witnesses would be Enoch. Hal Lindsey believed that it was Moses and Elijah. I guess we don’t know for certain. I’m open to all possibilities.
-—>Most Christian scholars have always said...
The same ones that say that God’s 10 commandment law was nailed to the cross and no longer binding on Christians? Those scholars? Just checking.
Few scholars described the atonement that way until fairly recent.
