ENOCH, TAKEN BY GOD

GENESIS 6:
When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. And after he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years. Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

ELIJAH, CHARIOT-RIDER

2 KINGS 2:
Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?”

“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

“You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise not.”

As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elisha saw this and cried out, “My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more.

#3 is Elijah being fed by ravens, not Enoch. Here's the full pic. I recognized that engraving from my childhood Bible Story book......................

The Van Linge stained glass has a cool color combination…but where’s Elijah’s head? Enoch walked with God…right back into the garden. I’m a little surprised more artists haven’t run with that opportunity for a fabulous rendering.

If I remember correctly it is believed that these 2 will be the witnesses in Jerusalem during the end days.

Though there are some who think Moses will be one of them.

Because they never died, and "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Hebrews 9:27

Elijah and Moses are proposed because of their presence on the Mount of Transfiguration.

But why not you and me?!

Are we (you and I) (going to be) Saints? What does that say of us?

It's a bit disturbing, to me.

To me, as the Bible uses the term, a saint is any and every Christian.

What is disturbing about that?

And why do you admonish me for adopting the Bible's usage?

I’m not “admonishing” you about anything, nor am I trying to argue with you about anything. I find this a potentially interesting point of discussion.

So if any and every Christian is a saint ... that means, according to 1 Corinthians 6, I might be called upon to “judge”.

I find that a bit disturbing ... I’m unworthy.
