(2 Peter 1:20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (Isaiah 28:10) For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: (Isaiah 28:13) But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

I have to define and describe how YOUR strawman is supposed to work?

Good luck with that!

Also, as regards your missing person's graves argument, …..

Technically, it isn’t my argument. True I did post an article (which I linked) that included it. But it’s a pretty good argument. Mary isn’t just some flea bitten handmaiden. She is probably third only to the Beatles and Jesus Christ. Think of the money the RCC could make off of her relics alone (if they did exist). Are you mad, Bro?

Rome makes plenty of their Marian products.

Nope. As not one of the Marian dogmas is found in scripture. Roman sources admit that in discussion of the immaculate conception. We have No Scripture on the alleged Assumption.

Moving the Sun around in the sky doesn’t come cheap. Neither does bringing forth a spring. Why I even heard she wove the curtain that was rent when her son died on the cross. Imagine parting that out?

Mary isn’t just some flea bitten handmaiden.

wow. I typically stay out of these and just watch from the sidelines..but THIS..LOL. What a sad, sad commentary.

Seriously..prayers up for scales to be removed from your eyes. Mary was “blessed amongst women”. I don’t venerate and pray to her (well, I don’t anymore) but I ain’t never met a person who would call her a “flea-bitten handmaiden” ..even as “here’s what we WOULDNT call her”. There is freedom out there. I absolutely found it..and didn’t even know I was looking for it.

Mea culpa. They made me do it. I was trying to hold a mirror up to them. I promise to do my penance and to amend my life, amen. This is the first time I have ever engaged in one of these “religious” threads and I am seriously regretting it. I’m an old beat up survivor of the Civil War threads. I lost my head. Pray for me.

Hey bro, correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall, you put out this same post to old Yeller, way back up thread. I seem to remember, that old Yeller said stop it. Why did you post it word for word a second time?

And here Prots are being criticized and condemned for allegedly claiming new revelation that was not previously known before Luther came along.

IIRC, the argument goes something like, *You mean all those people were lost for the first 1500 years of the church?*

And now here is the Roman religion coming along and claiming hidden *truths* that were not revealed until someone came along and figured out stuff that is not even alluded to in Scripture, like the assumption of Mary, almost what? 2,000 years later?

Catholics are so big on allowing for themselves what they deny others and then relabeling it like *development of doctrine* and passing it off as a good thing.

Comes thru hearing the RIGHT stuff. Mormonism has added 'traditions' and doctrine; just like Rome has.

I wonder who taught them that?

Was Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, an ex Catholic? Some ex Catholics join other false religions, like Mormonism, Jehovah’s witnesses, SDA. It’s called, out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Seriously? That's the best you can do to support the assumption of Mary? That if there really was a grave they'd be making money off of it and since they are not, it's somehow *proof* that Mary had no grave and was assumed???????

Probably most by lighting candles in front of her statues in churches and praying to her.

That I remember well as my mom refused to do that because we had no money to spare and she wouldn’t light a candle and not pay for it.

I’m still looking in Scripture for somewhere where Jesus admonished His disciples to use tradition or where He ever spoke highly of it.

He never spoke highly of tradition. In fact, he called the traditionalists a bunch of snakes. When the only begotten son of God, calls them snakes, that is good enough for me. Now, does Jesus call all traditionalists a bunch of snakes? I don’t know. You be the judge.

An apparition calling itself *Mary*.
