Here’s a compromise. Close school libraries. Fire leftist librarians because there are no school libraries. Give parents a property tax cut. Parents can choose to buy books for their children.

I homeschooled my children and purchased their books. I still have those books which are being passed down to my grandchildren. In fact, I still have books that my parents bought me when I was a child and those books were ready by my children. They will see a third generation of use soon.

You are correct. Mormons are a cult of Jesus Christ.

Mormons are a cult of Jesus Christ.

Mormons are a cult of Jesus Christ.

Mormons are a cult that claims Jesus had a beginning, was procreated by celestial sex between Father God and Mother God, then came to earth to get a body. Total cult. Nice people, mostly, total cult teachings.

Common folks, it’s CNN. If you go onto the site you find a picture of the Book Of Mormon with the words “Another Testament on Jesus Christ. They may put the this book on an equal scale with this Bible, but the Bible is still used and to my knowledge the chief volume used. CNN can’t wait to stretch the truth.

I did PC support for one of the local school districts for a number of years. (Contracted, small district, couldn't afford their own dedicated guy.) Their server/network area was a room you had to go through the high school library to get to.

The library was depressingly little used. Almost unused.

I don’t recall using the school library when I was a child. When I was in high school and had papers to write I went to a local State College and used their library. Our high school library was worthless. Not having a decent school library never hindered my reading. There were books in our home. My father was an avid reader. He would check out books from the public library and buy books, mostly paperback novels. By the time I was 12 there was a pipeline of books, particularly the paperbacks, the would go from him to me. As adult, when he was still alive, we would trade books after we read them. I do the same with my children today.

The district provided a copy of the original complaint, where someone wrote:

“I thank the Utah Legislature and Utah Parents United for making this bad faith process so much easier and way more efficient. Now we can all ban books and you don’t even need to read them or be accurate about it. Heck, you don’t even need to see the book.”

I gues the libraries are going to have to remove all fact-filled history books of any kind, all of which account for wars, bombing, shooting people, raping, gassing, etc. And that would only mean the writings about real events, and would not include the fantastic works of fiction-writers or psychoanalytical studies.

Is it possible that you are somehow mislead?

Possibly; but you know...

Numerous changes to the first edition of the Book of Mormon were made in the 2nd edition in 1837.
LDS leaders teach current members that only punctuation and grammar corrections were made.

But of the nearly 4,000 alterations, some of them had to do with Joseph's evolving belief about the nature of God.
Notice how these verses changed from Jesus-was-God-the-Father, to Jesus-is-the-Son-of-God-and-not-the-Father.
Investigators believe that the evidence clearly shows that Joseph changed his belief that God the Father and Jesus Christ were one being, to the belief that they were two beings.

Then, he then revised the Book of Mormon in 1837 to support his new idea.

Original 1830 Text

Current, Altered Text Link is here. (Highlighted portion)

1 Nephi 3, p. 25* And he said unto me, Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of God, after the manner of the flesh

* The 1830 text did not have verse divisions.

1 Nephi 11:18 And he said unto me, Behold, the virgin whom thou seest is the mother of the Son of God.

1 Nephi 3, p. 25 And the angel said unto me, behold the Lamb of God, even the Eternal Father!

1 Nephi 11:21 And the angel said unto me, behold the Lamb of God, even the Son of the Eternal Father!

1 Nephi 3, p. 26 And I looked and beheld the Lamb of God, that he was taken by the people; yea, the Everlasting God, was judged of the world.

1 Nephi 11:32 And I looked and beheld the Lamb of God, that he was taken by the people; yea, the Son of the Everlasting God, was judged of the world.

1 Nephi 3, p. 32 These last records…shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world.

1 Nephi 13:40 These last records ...shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and the Savior of the world.

Actually; most LDS 'doctrine' is NOT found in the Book of Mormon, but in their D&C's - the one they do NOT hand out freely and ask you to pray about it's veracity.
