30 minute discussion on why Catholic Christianity
is thought by this Bishop to be the fullness of the Religious truth.
He frames it with CS Lewis math problem,
where there can be only one True answer, though at the same time- many answers can be close.
A good 30 min. YouTube talk for Luke warm Catholics.
Non-Catholics, well not so much.
The rules don't allow this to be Caucused.

Why is Your Religion The Right One?
Religious argument should be engaged on a topic like this.
While I think this discussion is important, the most important thing is to defend God and Jesus from the onslaught of the last 100 years.
If religion = denomination, mine isn’t necessarily THE “right one”. I’ll attend any denomination’s church if it’s true to Scripture.
I’m not in any religion.
I WAS in a religion a long time ago but it was a works-based dead-end religion.
I try to tell people to leave it but it’s traditions and machinations delude them and hold them hostage. They can’t leave it because they’re blind to the power of the relationship He wants with them.
I pray that God will give them faith to trust in His Son and drop the religion.
God wants something that is way more
than a mere defense of him, from us.
He wants us...
Facts are facts. Go where the Bible leads one. If it leads to Catholicism, okay. If it does not, okay.
"If you choose not to decide,
you still have made a choice"
Never really thought Catholics as a different religion. Christianity is Christianity.
From a guy who went to Catholic school, was surrounded by Catholics, all my girlfriends were Catholic (or Jewish), but was Protestant.
Same for my Greek Orthodox friends.
But not for “woke” churches.
That’s a different religion.
So a Catholic defends his position with a Protestant argument.
No intellectual dissonance there at all!
> there can be only one True answer <
Well, yes. And that one True answer is not found in the pronouncements of the pope, or in those of the Archbishop of Canterbury, or in those other person. It is found in the Gospels.
If you accept the Gospels as written, you’ve got it right. Period. It doesn’t matter which church you go to on Sundays. The various Christian denominations might disagree on minor points. Nothing wrong with that. But it’s really all about the Gospels. Everything else is minor - not important at all.
But what if a person accepts the Gospels as written and goes to church on the Sabbath, the same as Jesus did and said to keep the Commandments? It's really all about the Gospels and what they say, right?
Thanks for the reply. But I’m not quite sure what your point is.
Because my God doesn’t tell me to fly plane loads of innocent people into buildings full of other innocent people.
How do we really know our religion is the right one?
Or... is the answer...
It just doesn't matter?
> How do we really know our religion is the right one? <
You raise a VERY interesting point! I believe that the Gospels as found in the New Testament are the way, period. However...
Years ago I read an article about a Catholic nun who was working in Burma. She was asked how she deals with the various religions found there. She replied by quoting scripture. Jesus said, “My Father’s house has many rooms.” (John 14:2). The nun took that to mean that there are many ways to reach Jesus, and many ways to reach G_d.
I don’t know how much of her argument I can accept. But one thing is for sure. I cannot confidently argue against it.
Because we are the chosen ones and you are not so there.
God. GOD. God God GOD !!!
Unfortunately I cannot reply to your post in any meaningful way. I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Religion does not save a person.
A relationship with Jesus does.
John 14:6 Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.
Not through religion, although if anyone could claim a *religion* that would bring one to God, it would be the Jews, who had their religious system handed down to them from Mt Sinai by God Himself.
If the system of religious observances handed down by God Himself doesn't, and indeed can't save anyone, then NONE can, and most certainly nothing man has cooked up since then.
Romans 8:3-4 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
