Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 26

The Last Supper

17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”

18 He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

20 When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. 21 And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”

22 They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, “Surely you don’t mean me, Lord?”

23 Jesus replied, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. 24 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”

25 Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?”

Jesus answered, “You have said so.”

26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”

27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[b] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

30 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba Father,

The Earth is Yours, and The Fullness Thereof.

It is You, and Only You,

Who Designed it All,

From the Tiniest Quark to the Most Massive Singularity in Space.

This is Your Creation,

Your Artwork,

Your Splendor,

Out Your Infinite Imagination,

That You have Created For Your Glory and Pleasure.

You Are So Awesome!

What can we do Except Exclaim,

"How WONDERFUL YOU ARE!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

In the 50's and 60's suburban housewives engaged in Multi-Level Marketing for all sorts of things. Whether it was Kitchen Items, Food Storage, Wood Decor, Copper Items, Nightgowns, or Make-Up, these items were sold at "Home Parties". It was a fun way to have hubby babysit, and go to a safe place to socialize with other women in the neighborhood. There were games, demonstrations of the product, and you might even get a free "facial". Remember though, the hostess got gifts based upon the amount of her sales so BRING MONEY.

At a "Copper Party", Mom eschewed the Jello Molds and Teapots for a 2 x 3 foot replica of Da Vinci's "Last Supper", pounded out of pure copper. It hung over the Dining Room credenza for decades. It was my introduction to Leonardo, and I wondered why everybody was sitting on ONE side of the table. Since my Dad was a Professional Photographer and developed the pictures in our basement darkroom, the copper "Last Supper" reminded me of those Wedding Pictures where everybody crowds on one side of the table to get in the picture. As poorly as the pounded copper resembled the original, it still had a beauty and symmetry that appealed to me. The piece is long gone, and must have disappeared during one of our moves. The Original, done on commission in a monastery dining room, is deteriorating rapidly, but restoration is not easy. Restorers have to be so scrupulous NOT to put their own "spin" into the artwork. A "restoration" should be as close as possible to the original.

As beautiful as Da Vinci's work was, it really doesn't depict an actual Passover Seder. The REAL Last Supper was a Commemoration of the deliverance From Egypt, as told in the Book of Exodus. The complex Ritual, involving Special Foods, Wine, Unleavened Bread (a symbol of sinlessness), and the sacrifice of an Innocent Lamb, were an Ordinance that was to Last Forever, according to God's Command. The Gospels are specific about the fact that The Last Supper was a Passover Seder. Matthew is even more specific, describing the "Dipping" of the bread (and identifying His betrayer in the process), and the singing of a Hymn at the end (The Hallelujah Section of the Psalms). These are all features of the Passover Ritual. Even to this day, there are some who call themselves "Christians" but will not admit that Jesus was Jewish. Perhaps they have never read the Gospel of Matthew.

Nearly every Christian Group practices some form of this Reenactment. Some call it "Communion", some call it "The Eucharist", and some call it "The Lord's Supper." Many disagree on what happens to the Bread and Wine, but we ALL agree that it is a Remembrance of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus, to free us from the slavery of sin.

This is a Truth that is not made of Paint, Plaster, or Even Copper, which all perish with time.

This Is FOREVER.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 113

1 Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord;
praise the name of the Lord.

2 Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time on and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to its setting
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens.

5 Who is like the Lord our God,
who is seated on high,
6 who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor from the dust,
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8 to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

It could have been anything from Psalm 112 through Psalm 118, if they were following a typical Passover Service. maybe ALL of those in a row.
