Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 18

The Parable of the Wandering Sheep

10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a]

12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,

Hallowed, Magnified,

and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!

How Blessed and How True is Your Word,

and How Mighty!

How Glorious, to Span the Millennia,

To be Unfettered by Time and Space,

To Know The End from the Beginning

and the Beginning from The End!

For it is You, Oh LORD,

Who designed the Galaxies with Your Compass,

And Mapped Out the Vast Reaches of Space

With Your Word and Your Omniscient Imagination!

Scientists tell us even the heavens are finite.

But YOU are Infinite!

LORD, remind us ALWAYS to Worship You,

and not Your Creation.

Your creation is there but to proclaim YOUR GLORY.

Hallelujah and Amen.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

On the treadmill next to me at the Ladies' Gym was a woman I knew from church. Somehow she had heard that I had attended the Annual Bikers Ball that had been hosted by a well-known outlaw club. She was quite indignant about it, and let me know in no uncertain terms that she disapproved of me, and that I was setting a bad example. I didn't feel like arguing with her, so I finished my hour on the treadmill in silence and then went over the the weights.

Yes, I DID go to the Bikers Ball. I did a lot of dancing, eating, and chatting with people. One man who was sitting with us was from my husband's home town, and we got into a nice conversation about it.

My husband and I had come by car because it looked like it was going to rain, and sure enough it began to pour. When we left the building, our table-mate was confronted by the sight of his bike, up to its hubs in a puddle, and more rain coming down.

There was no way it could have been dealt with that night, so we offered the man a ride home (we knew the area), and he gratefully accepted. He must have noticed something in the car that indicated that we were Christians, because, on the way home, he started pouring out his heart to us. Even though we were driving in torrential rain after midnight, we were able to explain the Gospel to him. When we got to his house in the "Old Neighborhood" he thanked us profoundly. We had not even gone a mile out of our way, and, to this day, I believe God had sent us to the Bikers Ball for the sole purpose of driving that man home.

There is a lot of Art depicting this beloved parable. Nearly all of it depicts Jesus as the Good Shepherd rescuing a sweet little baby lamb from thorns in a wild, mountainous place. But, Jesus spoke of a lost sheep, not a baby lamb. The sheep had gone astray. A baby lamb would not have done that, because a lamb is dependent upon its mother, and is innocent. Jesus wasn't speaking of straying children. he was speaking of straying adults with grown-up sins. Remember, Jesus just told us about the innocence of children. They do not have to be persuaded to believe; they just DO.

OK...I admit I didn't go to the Bikers Ball to evangelize.It just happened. I went to have a good time, and I did. But God had other plans.

We like to call that a "Divine Appointment".

May we always be open to our "Divine Appointments" and keep them, no matter how weird or dangerous they may seem.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 33

1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous.
Praise befits the upright.
2 Praise the Lord with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings.
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

4 For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle;
he put the deeps in storehouses.

8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.

10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands for ever,
the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.

13 The Lord looks down from heaven;
he sees all humankind.
14 From where he sits enthroned he watches
all the inhabitants of the earth—
15 he who fashions the hearts of them all,
and observes all their deeds.
16 A king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 The war horse is a vain hope for victory,
and by its great might it cannot save.

18 Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19 to deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
he is our help and shield.
21 Our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.

You and your husband were his “road angels”. You might have changed his life that night.

1 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV) “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.”

Thank you and AMEN. This was the first reading of my morning after a quiet time of prayer and reflection. Sometimes it happens that when I pour out my heart to the LORD, I read your post and there’s a connection. Without going into the sordid details I had prayed about: “adults with grown-up sins. and Jesus just told us about the innocence of children. They do not have to be persuaded to believe; they just DO.” I prayed for our little grandson Jackson who I never see anymore (result of grown up sins) and also Thanked God for the last sweet weekend I spent with him and how he saw a small statue of Jesus in my computer room and asked about Him. I had a change to speak of JESUS to him and his first response was: I want to go to heaven and live with JESUS. Praise GOD. Out of the mouth of babes. May the LORD bless Him abundantly and you.
