Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 14

Jesus Walks on the Water

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

34 When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret. 35 And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him 36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Father In Heaven,

How Hallowed is Your Most Wonderful Name!

We Love You With Our Whole Heart

With Our Whole Soul

With Our Whole Strength

And With Our Whole Being.

You Alone Are Worthy of Worship,

You Alone Are The One True Holy and Righteous God.

Rock of All Ages,

Our Creator,

You Have Made Us,

and All That Is.

Teach us Day by Day

That it is Not by Might,

Not by Power,

But By Your Spirit That We Shall Overcome.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It's a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it's you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

The survey contained pages and pages of questions about the Community's Elder Services. Although it was trying to be uplifting and inclusive of the needs of Seniors, it seemed a bit shallow to me. Question after question went like this:

1. Do you attend our Drum Circle?

2. Would you attend a Yoga Class for Seniors?

3. Will you be joining us for the Bus Trip to Fox Woods Casino?

4. Would you be attending our "Mindfulness" Seminar?

Finally, there was a question I could answer:

5. What new programs would you like to see implemented?

My answer was simple:

"Someone to shovel me out when it snows."

While most of us will not ever be required to walk on water, we all have to face some frightening situations from time to time. I tend to be anxious about the onset of a New England Winter. It happens every year, but for some reason this year seems the worst yet. With every earlier sunset, drop in temperature, and snow flurry, my anxiety deepens.

And yet, I know better! There is only one way to get over fear, and that is to get out of the boat and walk on water. I know Jesus will be there to hold my hand.

And so, I will be driving 300 Miles NORTH, almost to the Canadian Border, to visit my sister for Thanksgiving. I know, what if it SNOWS? It could. But driving in snow is not nearly impossible as walking on water, so I'll be fine. The best part is that I'll be spending Thanksgiving with my Sister, her Husband, and our doggies. I have no idea what the internet situation is up there, and phone service is sketchy, so this will be my last thread till next week. In the meantime, I wish you all a very Blessed Thanksgiving. May this be the beginning of a Winter that is free from fear and anxiety.

Don't be afraid to step out of the boat.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Do not be anxious about snow, but in every snowstorm, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 65

To the leader. A Psalm of David. A Song.

1 Praise is due to you,
O God, in Zion;
and to you shall vows be performed,
2 O you who answer prayer!
To you all flesh shall come.
3 When deeds of iniquity overwhelm us,
you forgive our transgressions.
4 Happy are those whom you choose and bring near
to live in your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
your holy temple.

5 By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance,
O God of our salvation;
you are the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas.
6 By your* strength you established the mountains;
you are girded with might.
7 You silence the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
the tumult of the peoples.
8 Those who live at earth’s farthest bounds are awed by your signs;
you make the gateways of the morning and the evening shout for joy.

9 You visit the earth and water it,
you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
you provide the people with grain,
for so you have prepared it.
10 You water its furrows abundantly,
settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
and blessing its growth.
11 You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with richness.
12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
the hills gird themselves with joy,
13 the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
the valleys deck themselves with grain,
they shout and sing together for joy.
