Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 7
Ask, Seek, Knock
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father
WE Know You Are The One True God
You are The LORD of Glory
You Are the Creator of the Universe
The All-In-ALL
And AWESOME in Your GLORY!
Hoe Can we even attempt to approach You?
And Yet You Reach down to us,
With Your Word, Your Revelation, and Your Love.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Good Morning! Yesterday I turned 70 and I don't feel any different. Am I supposed to? Anyway, today's story is a bit long, but it does have a point at the end.
In 1963 my family moved to a larger house because six kids in a two-bedroom cape-style house just wasn't cutting it anymore. The four-bedroom house in Roslindale, another Boston neighborhood, was perfect.
The City of Boston always had Neighborhood Schools within walking distance, and Roslindale was no exception. In Roslindale, the schools were named after Classical Composers. There was the Mozart School, the Beethoven School, and the Liszt School. There was also Brahams Street, and Schubert Street. Dad used to joke that Schubert Street, a Dead End, was left Unfinished as revenge for Schubert's Unfinished Symphony. (Typical Dad Joke!). My Local Neighborhood School was the Mozart, but I had to go to a different school, not named after a Classical Composer, that was three miles away in West Roxbury. This was due to the fact that I was in an Advanced Placement Sixth Grade, on a track for Girl's Latin School. There was no school bus, so Mom gave me two dimes every day for the round trip on the City Bus. If the weather was nice, I would walk, and save up the dimes.
The walk took me past an Armenian Rug Merchant who had an awesome, exotic window display. Beautiful Antique Oriental Rugs in Jewel-like colors swirled around each other, rippling in the sunny window. In the center was a small round table, and on the table, a tiny brass samovar. The samovar was too small to kindle a fire in and make tea. It was just decorative. But I fell in love with it. Every morning and afternoon, I would stop and look in the window. Sometimes the rugs and color scheme would change, but the samovar was always there, evoking Romantic and Exotic Arabian Nights Fantasies.
I passed the test for Girl's Latin School, and, for the next two years, went across the city on Public Transportation to go there. I didn't like it at all. There was no opportunity for me to explore the Arts, and that was where my heart was. So, by the Ninth Grade, I transferred to the Junior High in West Roxbury, near where my old Elementary School had been.
Naturally, I pocketed the carfare and began walking again. There, in the Store Window, were a whole new collection of rugs, and the samovar. Once again, my mind would wander to the Mystical East, and my imagination would soar.
High School and College went by, and then, in 1971, I met my future husband. He was of the Jewish Faith, and had never celebrated Christmas before, and didn't know what would be an appropriate gift for a girl he was dating. Perhaps I had shared with him some stories from my childhood, as he had with me.
Christmas came, and sitting under the Christmas Tree with my family, I opened his gift.
It was the samovar. I still have it.
In Today's Reading, Jesus speaks of Our Heavenly Father Who Loves us more than we could ever imagine. He uses the example of a human father whose child asks for a piece of bread. Even a human father would not give a stone to his own child if the child was hungry. That is an example of hyperbole that Jesus would often use in a Parable to REALLY make His point. Jesus tells us that "we have not, because we ask not".
All those years, I longed for that little samovar, but never told anybody. And so, of course, it remained out of reach, and an unattainable dream. When I mentioned it finally, nearly seven years later, in a casual conversation that I don't even remember having, the samovar was given to me.
How much more does Our Father want to give us the desires of Our Hearts, if only we would just ASK?
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 24
Of David. A Psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
the world, and those who live in it;
2 for he has founded it on the seas,
and established it on the rivers.
3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
and do not swear deceitfully.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord,
and vindication from the God of their salvation.
6 Such is the company of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.*
Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory.

I had a very nice birthday, and tonight I went to the first Open Mike Night in 2 and a half years (Covid really put a damper on the Music scene around here).
I sang so Van Morisson, some Fleetwood mac, and some originals.
It felt awesome to be back at it.
Anyway, that’s why I am late.
