Francis has set up a permanent commission for non-Catholic witnesses to “The Faith" in the dicastery for canonisations, according to its prefect Cardinal Marcelo Semeraro (VaticanNews.va, 5 October).
Already John Paul II temporarily set up such a commission. Semeraro thinks that "sainthood is not always immediately apparent to the eyes of the faithful", although this is precisely one of the necessary criteria for a canonisation. He wants "to bring to light" [= to fake] an invisible holiness that he imagines is "not far from us".
As an example, Semeraro mentioned the inevitable Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer (+1945), who was killed because he opposed National Socialism. Bonhoeffer advocated a "theology" that came close to atheism ("religionless Christianity").
The Commission will be concerned with hailing dubious personalities in order to ingratiate itself with the immoral oligarchs.

Oh how creative!
Saint Barrack Obama
He is worthly of Sainthood now while he is still alive.

Or will be Saint Jobs of the computer. Oops, too close to Job in the Bible. Saint Gates will suffice.
I was just thinking something similar. New sources of revenue.
What a complete sh*tshow.
Why not have non Catholic Saints. we got a non-Catholic pope.
Communist Chinese mass murder: 77 million
number of abortions in U.S. since 1973: 68 million
Soviet Russia mass murder: 62 million
Nazi Germany mass murder: 21 million
Nationalist Chinese: 10 million
Imperial Japan mass murder: 6 million
Outside the Church there is no salvation.
Change my mind.
[Pro tip: It ain’t happenin’.]
Will particularly worthy dogs and cats be eligible?
Just asking for a (furry) friend.
LOL!!
Saint Equity.
Why is a commission required. The Bible uses the word “saints” to refer to the people of God. It is not some designation applied to only a special few that meet some man-made criteria.
Gotta have a diversity of “saints” from all religions and philosophies in the One World Church!

“The Bible uses the word “saints” to refer to the people of God.”
Good point, and, none of those saints were Roman Catholics!
Bergoglio is Argentinian. Will he try to canonize his compatriot Che Guevara?
Buddha, was he where it’s at
Was he where you are?
Could Mohammed move that mountain
Or was that just PR?
