(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) spoke on Friday at a “reproductive health roundtable discussion” at the University of California at San Francisco where she described efforts to restrict abortion as “sinful.”
“It’s sinful,” she said. “It's wrong that they would be able to say to women what they think women should be doing with their lives and their bodies.”
Pelosi made these remarks after Rep. Jackie Speier (D.-Calif.) discussed what she called “government-mandated pregnancy” and her hope that the United States would be able to “extend medication abortion past ten or eleven weeks.”
“In Europe, as I understand, it’s as much as fourteen weeks,” said Speier.
Here is a transcript of the part of the discussion on “reproductive health” where Pelosi expressed her view that restricting abortion was “sinful:”
Speaker Pelosi: “Thank you very much to all of our very special guests, whom I will acknowledge. But I want to yield now to our distinguished chair of so many committees in the Congress and the Women’s Caucus in particularly for today, Congresswoman Jackie Speier.”
Rep. Jackie Speier: “Thank you, Madame Speaker. You can’t leave this room and not be inspired by the incredible talent and passion of all those who have spoken and the clear-eyed view that we’re not going to take this sitting down. The fact that we have a government now, on a federal level, that is mandating pregnancy—government-mandated pregnancy—flies in the face of every personnel freedom for which our country was founded. And it is somewhat ironic at a time when we had so many colleagues on the House floor, Madame Speaker, who objected to your mandate to wear a mask because of their personal freedom, but it’s okay to mandate pregnancies for women. There’s a lot of work we can do. Dr. Drey, I think that your challenge to us get the FDA to make the medication abortion available over the counter is a great challenge for us and one that I am sure we will take up and to provide the kind of liability protection for providers who provide care in their state where it is legal is something that we will do as well. We also need more research to see to what extent we can extend medication abortion past ten or eleven weeks. In Europe, as I understand, it’s as much as fourteen weeks. So, much to do, but we’re prepared to do it. And I’m just grateful, Madame Speaker, that you chose Women’s Equality Day to host this particular event.”
Speaker Pelosi: “Thank you very much, Jackie. I want to thank our very special guests for their presentations. Shannon, Dr. Drey, Asmara, thank you for sharing your personal story. To Ushma, thank you, and also to Gilda. Is Gilda–Yes, Gilda is still with us. Thank you, Gilda. You gave us great guidance.
“But one word that pervades through all of the discussion was the word of ‘justice.’ The fact that this is such an assault on women of color and women–lower income families is just sinful. It’s sinful. It's wrong that they would be able to say to women what they think women should be doing with their lives and their bodies. But it's sinful, the injustice of it all. So thank you for making that central. And you did too, Dr. Upadhyay. Thank you so much for making that so important.”
Well, Nanc’ murder is murder...
Women can do whatever they want with their own bodies, they just can’t do whatever they want to the baby’s body.
Maybe we should mandate that young women should be forced to dress like hookers that escaped from clown college…. And maybe then they’ll stop doing it?
Does she mean vaccines?
make me a sammich
Science says a human life begins at conception. Killing humans is a sin against God.
“Pelosi: ‘It’s Sinful…That They Would Be Able to Say to Women What They Think Women Should Be Doing With…Their Bodies’”
did nancy happen to mention the exception for governments and employers ORDERING women to be injected with experimental gene therapy jabs?
Why are you bringing FSU into this?
Would you really eat something her hands have touched?
but what about the tiny bodies inside of them??
Don’t you love how atheists are always telling Christians what the Bible is saying.
Did they discuss that its not in the water ???
Or was that item not on the agenda ???
It is obvious according to Pelosi and she freely admits that Women are wholly incapable of making decisions for themselves and need the force of law to help them shirk their responsibilities for their actions.
REPEAL 19, they don’t deserve to have any decision making rights.
Nancy, you’re not the only prominent “Catholic” who has let her radical marxism cloud her reasoning and lead her to deny human nature. There’s another one over in Rome.
Thou shall not deny women the right to choose abortion.
Moses stone tablets weren’t big enough for the 11th commandant above.
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”—2 Cor. 4:4
“They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.”—Eph.4:18
The witch and warlock of “abortion rights”.
