Although this has not yet been announced officially, the news has already been leaked: Tomorrow, July 17, the Archlayman of Chicago, ‘Cardinal’ Blase Cupich, will announce that the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP) will be shut down in Chicago effective August 1.
The ICKSP is a Traditional Latin Mass community founded in 1990 that uses only the Roman Missal of 1962. It is one of the so-called “Ecclesia Dei communities”, meaning they have always been in full communion with the Vatican II Church and are operating on the basis of the indult granted by “Pope” John Paul II in the Apostolic Letter Ecclesia Dei issued on July 2, 1988. Their provincial headquarters for the United States are in Chicago, under the watchful Modernist eye of Blase Cupich.
On July 14, the well-known blogging Rev. John Zuhlsdorf (aka ‘Father Z’) had already released a cryptic prayer request “to avert a serious act of persecution”, but he did not provide any specifics.
On July 15, David L. Gray was apparently the first one to reveal details, as follows: __________ Blase Cardinal Cupich is Stripping the Institute of Christ the King of their Ability to Celebrate the Holy Mass in his Little Fiefdom, where their US Base is Headquartered – Effective August 1, 2022
Will be Announced at Sunday Mass at the Shrine of Christ the King Sovereign Priest on Woodlawn Ave., in Chicago
Fr. John Lovell of the Coalition for Canceled Priest to Appear on The David L. Gray Show Monday Morning [July 18] to Discuss __________
Since then, ‘Father Z’ has updated his original prayer request post with details:
Cupich of Chicago has told the members of the Institute of Christ the King in Chicago, that he is effectively shutting them down as of 1 August. This will be formally announced on Sunday [July 17] at the Institute’s church on the South Side of Chicago.
No Masses. Nothing. 31 July is their last day to function.
I’m sorry that the Institute itself was not able to break the news.
(John Zuhlsdorf, “ACTION ITEM: Prayer to avert a serious act of persecution – UPDATED”, Fr. Z’s Blog, July 15, 2022; bold print given.)
The Ecclesia Dei communities are sitting ducks.
Live by the Francis, die by the Francis.
But German cardinals who promote heresy and sodomy and adultery are okay. /s
Pope Francis is the vector that the disease used to gain entry and control.
There can no longer be any doubt.
To clarify:
The organization FSSPX (which predated Ecclesia Dei) being the Fraternal Society of Saint Pius the Tenth, or simply, “The Society”.
The Ecclesia Dei organization FSSP being the “Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter”, or simply,”The Fraternity”.
And the Ecclesia Dei organization ICKSP being the Institute of Christ the King, Sovereign Pontiff”, or simply, “The Institute”.
“But German cardinals who promote heresy and sodomy and adultery are okay.”
The two phenomena are not unrelated. Bergoglio’s war on the Latin Mass is precisely because he and his minions perceive (accurately) that the Latin Mass subculture is a bastion of orthodoxy within the Church and thus presents an intractable obstacle to their efforts to remake Catholicism in the image of liberal, LGBT-friendly protestantism.
Archbishop LeFebvre is definitely looking saintly at this point.
Honestly - if the apostate and perverted “Catholic” churches can have services promoting homosexuality and Moloch (and the Pope can support abortion by giving Pelosi communion) why can’t these churches be just as apostate and practice the Latin rite?
It’s not like the Catholic Church still has copyright on it here in the US
/s indeed.
Sorry, the P part of ICKSP is (Soon to be was? 🙁) “Priest” (not Pontiff...)
Someone ought to set his Cupich aBlaise.
Well the Vatican and the human hierarchy maybe, but not the Church, a.k.a., the Spotless Bride of Christ. The latter will always be visible and beyond the grasp of the evil one.
He’s doing Bergoglio’s bidding, for sure.
But Bergiglio recently cut the FSSP (the Fraternity) some slack.
The ICKSP (The Institute) is probably wishing it had the Fraternity’s mojo with Bergoglio.
The FSSP is just as vulnerable as the ICKSP. If anything, ICKSP is more artful and low-key in negotiations. Unfortunately, the Institute put a lot into renovating the beautiful church and had been rather attached to the big city HQ. What a horrible waste, and so sad as I was rather glad to see the HQ setup within walking distance of my old campus.
“The FSSP is just as vulnerable as the ICKSP.”
__________
Concur.
It is a WEF church now.
Why do you think so many traditionalists revolted when Vatican 2 came down the pipelines so long ago?
Francis is the logical outcome of Vatican 2’s principles.
I’m grateful for apostolates like CMRI, RCI, the SSPV, those under the fold of the late Bishop Daniel Dolan, and others who have carried on the good fight in defiance of the non-Catholic religion that wears the Church like a skinsuit.
“THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE ANTI-CHURCH CURRENTLY CO-EXIST IN THE SAME SACRAMENTAL, LITURGICAL AND JURIDICAL SPACE”.
This is a quote from Fr. Linus Clovis from a speech he gave to the Rome Life Forum on 18 May, ARSH 2017. This is a clear, succinct definition of the current situation, and as with all statements that are true and clear, it carries a tremendous capacity to both edify and console.
Latin was the language that united Catholics the world over, regardless of native languages. Soviet-style collectivism is characterized by the forced division of populations according to group identity. The Catholic Church, under Crazy Frank, once a pretty reliable example of socialism, has now become full Soviet. The worst part is that Evil Frank has packed the College of Cardinals with clones. Time for another Great Schism, and maybe a grand of looting and redistribution (how’s that for socialism, Frank?) of the Vatican of its ridiculous wealth. Nonetheless, Catholics can still find venues for the Latin Mass, Communist Frank’s disapproval notwithstanding,
Does the SSPV believes it is The Church?
Are the SSPV self-professed sedes (sedevecantists)?
