True! However when a "denomination's" doctrine becomes heretical, it's no longer Christ's church and it's time for true Believers to leave.
The feminazi Harvard Divinity School/University Lutheran Cambridge pseudo-”bishop” Elizabeth Eaton issues her mealy-mouthed response to the Supreme Court’s overthrow of Roe v Wade!!!!
We all know that she is a pro-abortion heretic, and no phony statement can hide that fact from one and all!!!! PHOOEY to her!!!!
All ELCA members who want to be Christians instead of partisan Democrats should check out their nearest English-language Orthodox Christian parish!!!! They might be pleasantly surprised—surprised by Christ!!!!
Agreed. Sad situation all around. This happens when we lose focus of Christ in Christian Church aka the Bride of Christ.
I have been a member of my wife’s family ELCA church since 2008. Our pastor retired near the very end of Covid, and our interim pastor is a lesbian, who never fails to mention she’s a lesbian.
That said, she is a perfectly lovely woman, who is now overseeing a congregation where there are literally no more than 4 children in attendance, ever, and the average age of congregants is 70 years old.
I feel like we attend just to see who will die next. Anyhow, since it’s her family church, here we sit...
Not at all. Only the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
Pro-life, orthodox Lutheranism supported by Martin Luther's Book of Concord is taught and upheld by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and the North American Lutheran Church (NALC), which are wholly separate and distinct denominations from the corrupted ELCA.
LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison addresses SCOTUS decision
"Today we continue to speak out against the evil of abortion..."
That must have been a single congregation deciding to join another denomination. The LCMS denomination itself is strongly pro-life. See post 46.
* as of August 19, AD 2009, a liberal protestant SECT, not part of the holy, catholic and apostolic CHURCH.
Be rooted in Christ!
Today we continue to speak out against the evil of abortion, which many will continue to practice and advocate in states bent on death. Many who have been misled by the father of lies and the culture of death greet this day with weeping and gnashing of teeth. Today we continue to sing that the Lord “has visited and redeemed his people” (Luke 1:68).
Absolutely disgusting!
This is happening with ALL “mainstream” Christian denominations in America.
We’ve seen an elderly friend suffer the indignity of her Episcopal Church fall apart for all this apostasy.
I myself was in ELCA shortly after it was created. A little later I discovered it wasn’t for me.
Catholics are suffering the apostasy of priests pushing homo and illegal aliens.
Mainstream America is sick, and it’s affected the churches and they follow suit.
Thank you.
You, as well.
Please don’t conflate the ELCA with Lutheranism.
ok
There's a big part of the problem ...
Here is what this Lutheran pastor (WELS) prayed today: We praise and thank you Lord for the recent Rowe vs. Wade decision by the supreme court. We thank you that we as citizens will now have an opportunity to influence our laws on abortion. Let this be a time where your people speak of the value of life, both born and unborn and the tragedy of abortion. Change hearts Lord and help us extend forgiveness in your Son to those who have made that sad choice.
From your comment:
tie themselves into theological knots defending the denomination or seethe in frustration as they watch their beloved church plummet deeper and deeper into heresy.

I am saddened by things like this; because...
These fine people are more loyal to the man-made doctrine of an entity that calls itself a church than they are loyal to the Lord’s doctrine found in scripture.
In my case, it was because I didn’t know scripture pretty much at all.
And there are so many!
You spend Sunday morning being preached to by a lesbian. How are you going to explain that one away ?
