Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Genesis 11
From Shem to Abram
10 This is the account of Shem’s family line.
Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father[d] of Arphaxad. 11 And after he became the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.
12 When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah. 13 And after he became the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.[e]
14 When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber. 15 And after he became the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.
16 When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg. 17 And after he became the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.
18 When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu. 19 And after he became the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.
20 When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug. 21 And after he became the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.
22 When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor. 23 And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.
24 When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah. 25 And after he became the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.
26 After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.

And Know The End From The Beginning
and the Beginning From The End,
Because You ARE The Aleph~Tav,
The Alpha and the Omega,
The Beginning and The End of All Things.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

One of the most evil and ancient hatred that exists in the world is antisemitism. This despicible bias was most obvious in the Twentieth Century with the Nazis, but it has been going on for a long, long time. Many of our common words in English have their roots in antisemitism, although the meanings have changed over the years. Words like "ghetto" and "cabal", while meaning something totally different now, had their origins describing a walled area in which Jews were confined or a secret occult society of Jews trying to take over the world. Now those words just mean a poor section of town or a conspiracy group. But what of the word "antisemitism" itself? Where does that come from? Why isn't the word for this insane hatred called anti-hebrewism" or "anti-judaism"? Of course, it is just as evil, no matter what it's called, but Today's Passage from Genesis gives us a clue to this mystery.
After the riveting stories of Noah's Ark and The Tower of Babel, we run smack into another Genealogy. This one is of particular interest, as it traces the line from Noah's son Shem to a man named Abram (Avram) who lived in Mesopotamia in a city named Ur. This is in modern-day Iraq, and there are still ruins of that Ancient City. It had a huge Ziggurat, which was like a tower of Babel, and many gods were worshipped there. People were still very clannish and married close relatives, and Abram was no exception. He was no better or worse than anyone else, but this was the man who would be called out by The One True God to be the Father of Many Nations, most notably, the Hebrews. Since there was a clear line on Abram's family tree going back to Noah's son Shem, his people were called "Shemites" or "Semites". The funny thing is, all people who claim descendacy from Abraham are also in the lineage of Shem, so the people who claim to be "Sons of Ishmael" are Semites as well. That includes their Languages, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic, which are called "Semitic Languages." And so, words have meaning. Semites who are antisemitic are just hating themselves and The God that made them.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

I might add that the "cabal" was a mythical secret society. It didn't exist, but the anti-semites claimed it did.

Psalm 11
To the leader. Of David.
1 In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to me,
‘Flee like a bird to the mountains;*
2 for look, the wicked bend the bow,
they have fitted their arrow to the string,
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?’
4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord’s throne is in heaven.
His eyes behold, his gaze examines humankind.
5 The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,
and his soul hates the lover of violence.
6 On the wicked he will rain coals of fire and sulphur;
a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous;
he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.

As an aside, the Jewish Ghetto in Rome is considered the oldest in the world outside the Middle East.

Indeed. And there is even an incident described in the Book of Acts when the antisemitic Emperor Claudius expelled all the Jews from Rome.
