I can see him wanting Ukraine to be strong, and Israel is a good example of strength. But, you’re right about enemies. Only the US really stands with Israel, and at that the Dems are at best wishy-washy about the relationship. And, he can forget about any support in the UN if Ukraine becomes like Israel.
But, Israel does have a great national anthem, Hatikvah.

An updated strategic partnership was signed on November 10th 2021 by the Biden/Harris administration. It provided an unclear pathway to Ukraine membership in NATO.

Israel has survived because they are one people working together for the good of the nation. They are pretty self-sufficient and a world leader in many fields - military equipment, medicine, technology. They are very patriotic and stand together in defense of their country. Zelensky admires that. So do I.

Ever hear of the Yom Kippur War in 1973? The USSR threatened to become involved in that because its proxy Syria wasn’t doing so well; Nixon said, “Okay; then we will become engaged on behalf of Israel.” (Not his exact words, of course, but they could have been.)
We went to DEFCON 3. I was in the US Air Force then, having recently rotated back to the US from Asia. I remember that alert.
The USAF flew constant resupply missions to Israel during the Yom Kippur War.
Nixon scared Brezhnev with that, and Brezhnev decided that discretion was the better part of valor, and reconsidered, and backed down.
Since that time, there has developed the idea of “American-Israeli Parallelism,” which basically means the US and Israel share integrated systems, and that allows the US to fight wars “vicariously” through Israel (i.e., Israel, using US systems, military assets, etc. in actual combat) to judge effectiveness, and determine any changes necessary.
Patriot Missile batteries? We supplied Israel with that system after the Gulf War; we also supplied some other Mideast allies with them. But, lately we began to withdraw those batteries from the Mideast; but we did not withdraw them from Israel.
The US has stood with Israel more than any other country; moreso during GOP administrations. The lowest point in US-Israeli relations came during the administration of the openly anti-Semitic Barack Obama (even then, though, the US was still closer to Israel than was any other nation). Then, with the Trump administration, we were back to our historical (Obama aside) close relationship with Israel. It’s anyone’s guess what the imbecilic Biden will do.
