I pray for healing of the family, which will happen soon I pray, but I pray for wisdom to see what new course God has chosen for you and your family. This is a devastating change of course. It is certainly not one that you imagined, we never do. But the positive thing is that it will lead to new directions that would have never have been possible before, and may God grant you the wisdom to make the best choices for your future.

I lifted Liam and his family up. God does desire to fill the brokenness with his love and grace. This was placed on my heart just now...Liam needs to pour out forgiveness on those around him but also himself. If he is holding himself to account in any way, that hard shell will prevent the healing balm of Jesus Christ to come in.

In my confusion earlier I left out some of the story.
Despite their own enormous pain Jessica and Liam elected to donate James’ organs.
We are consoled to some degree that James’s liver went to a man in his sixties with end-stage liver failure which absolutely means their gift saved his life.
Each of James’ kidneys went one to a man in his thirties and the other to a woman in her twenties. While these
transplants did not directly save their lives, they
certainly gave them a dialysis-free life and a chance at a normal life.
We are all very proud of Jessie and Liam for making these donations.
Anyone who knew James would agree that he would be in full agreement with these acts of love.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Prayers up for your entire family as they go through this time of grief. May our Lord comfort you all, especially Liam.

I am heartbroken for you and your family, what a terrible loss.
At the same time, I am thankful that your grandson’s organs were donated.
That is how I received my new liver last May. It was from a young person such as your grandson. I grieve for your loss. It breaks me up inside, because someone so young died way before their time, and I’m still here because of it.
I’m in my late 60’s, as well. Each of them have hardly had a chance to live life, and some of us get to keep going.
It’s terribly unfair, I know! I pray every day for my donor and his/her family.
I will pray for your grandson and your family.
