Religious persecution an ‘insane’ act, pope says

To discriminate against or persecute those who profess their faith is an intolerable act that threatens the fraternal bonds shared by humanity, Pope Francis said.

“How can we allow that in this society — which is so civilized — there are people who are persecuted simply because they publicly profess their faith? Not only is it unacceptable; it’s inhuman, it’s insane,” the pope said.

In a video message released by the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network Jan. 3, the pope offered his prayer intention for the month of January, which he dedicated to people who suffer from religious discrimination and persecution.

“Let us pray that those who suffer discrimination and suffer religious persecution may find in the societies in which they live the rights and dignity that comes from being brothers and sisters,” he said.

In his video message, the pope said religious freedom is not just about allowing freedom of worship but also “makes us appreciate others in their differences and recognize them as true brothers and sisters.”

Pope Francis prayed for an end to religious persecution and discrimination and that the world would “choose the path of fraternity” because “either we are brothers and sisters or we all lose.”

“As human beings, we have so many things in common that we can live alongside each other, welcoming our differences with the joy of being brothers and sisters,” the pope said.

“And may a small difference, or a substantial difference such as a religious one, not obscure the great unity of being brothers and sisters,” he said.

So now he’s going to get tough on the Chinese and Muslims? I’ll hold my breath and wait.

Don’t forget those Catholics whose conscience won’t allow them to get the vaccine. The hypocrisy is strong.

I was raised Catholic, but I consider the Pope about as believable as Fauci.

Ever type three paragraphs and then backspace the whole thing in a brilliant act of self sensorship?

Im sure he’s referring to Christian’s who persecute homosexuals by disagreeing with “gay marriage” instead of Muslims who chop the heads off of Christians.

Meanwhile, just across the Med from the Vatican, millions of Christians have suffered martyrdom without so much as a howdy-duty, but those who perpetrate the slaughter get their F’ing feat washed by this Pope when they swarm the border.

The man’s main talent seems to be denouncing in others the very vices of which he is most guilty.

He decries religious persecution... and yet mercilessly persecutes his perceived enemies within the Church.

He decries clericalism... and yet rules by arbitrary fiat based on nothing but his position at the top of the clerical heap.

He denounces rigidity... and yet is the epitome of rigidity with respect to his own views.

He denounces sourpusses... yet is permanently grumpy.

He decries corruption in the Church... yet fills his ranks with corrupt prelates whom he protects.

I could go on and on.

This after his own persecution of faith?
And his greenlighting of persecution worldwide?
Now I’m suspicious of his motivation.

The pope is suspiciously vague. Who in our society is being persecuted for proclaiming their faith, and who is doing the persecuting?

When we read scripture and the early Church fathers, the authors don't mince words as to saying precisely who the bad guys are. It's disturbing, to say the least, when the Pope or any Christian leader is vague or unwilling to say:

"Islam is an enemy of Christ and the Church. It is responsible for butchering Christians throughout the world and throughout its existence in the name of its false God."

"Communism is an enemy of Christ and the Church. It is responsible for persecuting and killing Christians throughout its existence."
