Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Daniel 12

The End Times

12 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise[a] will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”

7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[b] When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”

15 They make a pit, digging it out,
and fall into the hole that they have made.
16 Their mischief returns upon their own heads,
and on their own heads their violence descends.

17 I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,
and sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

When I was first aware of "Google Earth" some years ago, I went crazy with it. I zeroed in on every forbidden city on the planet, including Beijing, Rangoon, Mandalay, Mumbai, Katmandu, Moscow, St. Petersburg (and it fit Dostoyevsky's vivid descriptions!), Petra, Pyongyang (complete with its Hotel of Doom!), Kabul (a dump!), Teheran, Qum, Mecca, Medina, Cairo, Rio De Janiero, Washington (with all its symbolic street layouts) and, of course, Jerusalem. I kept a list of every place I "visited" until it became ridiculous. Then I got a new computer, and the list was lost. I don't have that feature anymore, which is just as well, because it was becoming an obsession.

Some of you may have noticed my constant Daily Prayer:

"Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed."

This is both a Spiritual and Practical Prayer. The Sculduggery and Mendacity of those who rule over us is so immense that ONLY God can lift the veil and show us what is going on.

Daniel was understandably troubled by his Apocalyptic Vision. However, he is told to "seal up a part of the Vision" until the End of Days. He is told that in the End Time people will increase knowledge and travel all over the world. Without getting too "mystical" about it, I would suggest that is a perfect description of the World-Wide-Web, which is the old name for the internet. My adventure with Google Earth is a perfect example of how we can spend hours on the internet, "going to-and-fro", and not accomplishing anything. I aquired "knowledge" because I now know what Katmandu looks like from 1000 feet up, but so what? Is my life (or anyone else's) any better for that knowledge?

Daniel's Vision was sealed up until the time is right for Revalation. And yet, there is another Prophecy that is very specific, about the rebuilding of the Temple (it happened) and The Messiah being "Cut Off". That happened too, and exactly when Daniel's Prophecy said it would, to the day.

Knowledge and Wisdom come from walking with God, not from senseless data-gathering.

And the way we Walk With God is Prayer.
