Australian Archbishop Orders Priests to Segregate Parishioners Based on Vaccine Status

'It is totally contrary to the Catholic Church’s Eucharistic ecclesiology to introduce division between the faithful — between the jabbed and un-jabbed — into the celebration of the Mass.'

CHELSEA, Victoria (LifeSiteNews) – The Archbishop of Melbourne is demanding that priests in his diocese “discriminate between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.”

Archbishop Peter Comensoli is forcing priests to divide their congregations into two groups, with Masses for uncapped congregations of COVID “vaccinated” parishioners and severely restricted services for the un-jabbed.

A letter from Father Kevin Williams to his parish of St. Joseph in Chelsea, Victoria, shows that priests have been forced by Comensoli to divide attendees of ceremonies according to their COVID jab status from at latest the end of October:

After stating that up to 500 people may attend a religious ceremony in the parish for the first time since COVID restrictions began, Williams explained that this could be made possible only under very strict circumstances: “All participants must be double vaccinated, and to get 500 people present they must stand outside the church (and ensure that they follow the one person per square metre rule).”

The restrictions get even tighter, though, if parishioners wish to be seated inside the parish church. Williams noted that to do so, “we must follow the one person per four square metre rule – in which case we can only get 80 double vaccinated people in the church building for a Mass.”

Why not naturally acquired immunity status?

This is within about ten miles of where I live - neighbouring parish to the one I attend Church at.

As far as I can see the Archbishop is only passing on what the law says. It’s government directives that are the problem.

We have had 1500 per service with 5 services per weekend and no masks or distancing and no outbreaks.

This is Father William's latest message to his parishoners. Things have changed a bit, but are still quite onerous.

And it state government directives that are leading to this situation - not decisions by the Archbishop.

I’m guessing the segregated Masses won’t be featuring the popular modern hymn “All Are Welcome”.

I respectfully disagree. It’s the modern Catholic bishops that are the problem. They have abandoned God and abandoned their sheep. They no longer teach the Catholic faith—they allow the government to teach the faithful. In fact, they have joined forces with the Satanically-inspired media to help lead those who will listen astray.

And sadly enough, none of what we are witnessing today in any place in this world will return to normalcy unless and until the modern Catholic bishops abandon the false teachings that grew out of the Second Vatican Council and return to teaching the true faith, including the TLM, that was taught and practiced prior to Vatican II.

I agree with you that a lot of the Church’s leadership have turned away from the true path.

But that’s irrelevant here - the rules St Joseph’s is having to follow are set down by Victoria’s state government. I suppose the Archbishop could tell his Archdiocese to break the law but to me it’s a “render unto Caesar” situation more than anything else.

You only render unto Caesar tangible things. Not your God given right to your own body.

You forgot the rest of it: Render unto God what is God’s.

No, I didn’t forget it.

I am not happy with a lot of aspects of the public health response to COVID here.

But I do not believe it should be based on religion.

Yet you parse the Bible to justify your secular position. How ironic.

I am a Roman Catholic. I regard the Bible as true. Including the ‘Render Under Caesar’ bit which is telling us to observe secular law in appropriate cases.

Frankly I’m rather disgusted to see the Archbishop being blamed for the decisions of a socialist government. I think that’s dishonest and disgusting behaviour.

But apparently some people think this is appropriate in the name of religion.

Those people should take a long hard look at themselves. God doesn’t want us to lie for Him.

Big deal! So are Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and they're all for secular law before God's law.

So I guess you don't support the persecuted underground Catholic bishops, priests and laymen in Red China. Frankly, I'm disgusted with your kowtowing to socialist governments.

No, I do support those who choose to fight Communist totalitarian regimes in China.

But Victoria is not commiunist China and the morons who try to claim it’s anything like that are actually helping to mask the real problems with genuinely oppressive countries.
