Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Job 1

4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Eternal God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For Your Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are God,
You Alone Are The Most High!
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
and Omnipresent,
You See The End From The Beginning
And The Beginning From The End.
We Thank You For Your Precious and Holy Word,
Which Gives Us daily Insight Into Your Eternal Mind,
Your Righteousness,
and Your Love For Us.
Abba, Father! How Wonderful You Are!

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

In the ancient Book of Job, we are introduced to a Bronze-Age-Millionaire who has been blessed in every way. He has a wife, many adult children, flocks, herds, and respect from his community. He is also a godly man, and a man who prays.

In Job's culture, the way of prayer involved animal sacrifice. Thie sacrificial victim was consumed by fire, so there was no way to reserve any of it. The animal was not only a sacrifice of present wealth, but also represented a future loss. Unlike currency, which is only worth the stated amount, animals breed. And so, the sacrifice of a ram or ewe represented the sacifice of a whole flock of future lambs!

Now, it goes without saying that Job prayed for himself, as we all do, but he was also an Intercessor. When his kids had birthday parties for each other, he made sure that he prayed that, if in their partying they had participated in some sin, that they would be forgiven. It's highly unlikely that the siblings were horrible sinners. In fact, they seem like a close-knit family to me. Obviously they loved each other and enjoyed each other's company. I wish ALL large families could be like that! But, of course, they were also human. And humans SIN.

Job must have been an exceptional father. Not only did his children live nearby, not only were they raised in such a way that they cared about each other, but Job PRAYED for his kids. It wasn't just a spoken prayer (God Bless 'em all), but a prayer that involved giving up a portion of his future wealth. Job wasn't even sure if his kids had sinned in their revelry, but he STILL prayed, just in case.

When we become intercessors, we make a commitment to pray for that person or cause, even if we don't know everything that is going on. We are secure in knowing that God knows All, and that He is in control.

Intercessors also need to have faith that their prayers are heard and answered, even when the results are not visible.

We know from the story that Jobs kids were all killed in a tragic accident, which was a direct result of satan. But in my heart I believe that, due to Jobs intercessory prayers, that they were whisked away to a place where they awaited that Glorious Day when Jesus set the Old Testament Saints free to abide with Him Forever. That's just a theory, but we know that Intercessory Prayer is never wasted, even if we don't see direct results.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 21

To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 In your strength the king rejoices, O Lord,
and in your help how greatly he exults!
2 You have given him his heart’s desire,
and have not withheld the request of his lips.
Selah
3 For you meet him with rich blessings;
you set a crown of fine gold on his head.
4 He asked you for life; you gave it to him—
length of days for ever and ever.
5 His glory is great through your help;
splendour and majesty you bestow on him.
6 You bestow on him blessings for ever;
you make him glad with the joy of your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the Lord,
and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.

8 Your hand will find out all your enemies;
your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 You will make them like a fiery furnace
when you appear.
The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
and fire will consume them.
10 You will destroy their offspring from the earth,
and their children from among humankind.
11 If they plan evil against you,
if they devise mischief, they will not succeed.
12 For you will put them to flight;
you will aim at their faces with your bows.

13 Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength!
We will sing and praise your power.

So many times it seems prayers are not answered—(like the last election & COVID when such evil was unleashed)

May God turn all this evil to good.
