Authoritarian Cardinal Reiterates His Ban On Roman Mass

Washington Cardinal Gregory reaffirmed in a July 30 letter his decision to prohibit an already approved August 14 Roman Mass scheduled at the National Shrine with Archbishop Thomas Gullickson.

The organiser and funder of this Mass, the Paulus Institute, asked Gregory in a July 29 letter to rethink his prohibition.

An authoritarian Gregory replied that he allegedly has the “exclusive competence” to authorise Latin Masses according to the 1962 Roman Missal. The August 14 Mass “may be celebrated in Latin according to the Roman Missal promulgated by Saint Paul VI and revised by Saint John Paul II” - as if "Latin" were the problem.

Gregory feigned “regret” that his decision “has been a source of disappointment.” He is more accommodating towards pro-death politicians or homosex priests. In 2018 he “personally” invited the homosex activist James Martin to speak on homosex Jesuit ministry.

I believe AB Vigano wrote this prayer:

We ask the Holy Spirit to touch the Clergy who have been lead astray, granting them the gift of repentance and the grace of forgiveness.

American hierarchy is as arrogant as Pope Frankie. I pray they find humility someday.

There is a great scene in Patton, where he wants to conquer Sicily but his plan was rejected. Patton then works barely within the confines of his orders to take Sicily anyway. During that charge, a message comes to him.

Sir, General Alexander has heard we're moving west. He says here, "Stop immediately. Go no farther than Agrigento. Repeat. Stop, immediately. "

Patton replies:

That's what you think it says. I think it was garbled in transmission. Ask them to re-transmit the message. That'll take half a day at least.

So, in that same spirit of doing the right thing, I believe the Archbishop's message was garbled in transmission....

Actually, I’m very encouraged how many American bishops and archbishops affirmed, for instance excommunication for pro-abortion politicians, even though doing so was very obviously not going to endear them to Pope Francis.

“Stop? You mean like a period?”
“. Immediately go no farther than Agrigento. Repeat. . Immediately.”
See, he repeated “immediately” to emphasize that he should do it very soon.

Similarly, the Archbishop wrote The August 14 Mass

may be celebrated in Latin according to the Roman Missal promulgated by Saint Paul VI and revised by Saint John Paul II

I think "may be" was garbled from "could at your choice but is not mandated to be." It's an IT glitch, you know, Siri and all that. Honest mistake.

They should stay the course and thank the Archbishop for his guidance on the 15th.

Eff this pervert. Do it in the parking lot and duct tape him to the sidewalk. It ain’t his church; it’s the people’s.

If God can send a lightning bolt to strike down an errant bishop in Caddyshack, then God can certainly strike down another one. I looked at a picture of this apostate Gregory guy. Is he Carl Rowan's brother?

For reasons easy enough to imagine, this particular Leftist cardinal has the nickname of “the African Queen.”

Well, no, the Catholic Church is not the people’s, it’s God’s, founded by Christ.

Well, Gregory is Black, of African ancestry, and widely regarded as a “queen.”

Understood, but since the people are supporting it financially, they get to act in God’s name here. Time for a massive group squat and a sidewalk duct taping.
