Following Francis' Traditionis Custodes and instructions from Clifton Bishop Declan Lang, 71, England, the two Glastonbury Benedictines end celebrating the Roman Rite.
Father Bede Rowe announced on his blog on July 17 that Saturday's 12.30pm Roman Mass at Glastonbury will be the last there.
Until now, the community, which was erected by Bishop Lang in August 2019, sang the Divine Office and the Conventual Mass according to the Roman Rite, which St Benedict already knew. The monks also serve Novus Ordo parishes. They are based in a presbytery and are thus at the mercy of the diocese.
Merciless.

It’s really sinking in with me now, what a travesty this is.
And so it begins... England will be an interesting case as the bishops are generally thought to be to the left of their American cousins. If they shut down the TLM at Brompton Oratory, there’s going to be a lot of anger among a lot of very wealthy and influential British Catholics. When I go to TLM there, the crowd makes me I feel like I’ve stumbled into an episode of Masterpiece Theatre.
Bergoglio has truly launched an unprecedented sh-tshow. God help us all.
TLM bump
masterpiece theatre, LOL.
Isn’t Glastonbury the first Christian church built in England? And, ostensibly, the creation of Joseph of Aramathea and St. Paul himself?
They hate the faith of our fathers, living still.
Not wasting time, are they?
