Only 6% of Americans have a "biblical worldview," according to research from notable evangelical pollster George Barna released as part of a new endeavor with the Christian conservative advocacy organization Family Research Council.

In a statement Wednesday, FRC announced that Barna, who founded the influential evangelical polling organization Barna Group, joined the organization as a senior fellow of their newly launched Center for Biblical Worldview.

FRC President Tony Perkins said that the center is "designed to give Christians a firm foundation so that they can engage the culture by being rooted in God’s Word."

“Every Christian can and should obtain a biblical worldview — which is only achieved when a person believes that the Bible is true, authoritative, and then taught how it is applicable to every area of life, which enables them to live out those beliefs," Perkins stressed in a statement.

If those are the actual questions, then I probably would not be considered to have a Biblical world view because I think the questions are stupid. However, I would not actually bother to answer those questions. They are insulting.

“So which country has the largest percentage of people with a biblical worldview?”

I was looking at some stats on the most Christian country in the world. From what I can see it is Zambia.

Zambia is 95.5% Christian and 95% of the population say religion is important in their daily life.

Runners are are Paraguay and the Philippines.

Those ‘questions’ were designed to give the polling authority the means to put their spin on the tpoice, not to measure biblical world view.

Apostasia in the Greek ONLY means departure. It is not a technical word in Greek and can mean depart from a faith or a physical departure. Looking at the verb form of the Greek word we see that aphistemi is used fifteen times in the New Testament; twelve times it refers to a physical departure and three times refers to a spiritual departure.

Apostasia is formed from a preposition, 'apos' meaning away from and 'histem' meaning to stand. The several first English translation from the Greek used The Departure when translatin Apostasia.

“Biblical worldview” needs to be defined. I suspect there are a lot of interpretations for what it means, and that many Christians are wary of signing on to the term without better clarity.

I like to point out that Americans as a group make a distinction between “ethics” and “morality” not found in the dictionary.

They think of ethics as obeying the written law, so it is an objective thing. But “every church has its own morality.”

For example, a lot of Democrat politicians will always describe themselves as “moral”, even scoundrels like Bill Clinton. And he can likely find any number of leftist clergy that will agree with his definition. But nobody is going to assert that he was “ethical”.

In any even, back to the original statement, what is the definition of “Biblical worldview?” Until that is clearly defined, it would probably be unwise to say you embrace it.

“human beings are born with a sinful nature and can only be saved from the consequences of sin by Jesus Christ.”

These are the only two ideas expressly referenced by that article.

Digging into the links I found this definition of a Biblical worldview...

“For the purposes of the research, a biblical worldview was defined as believing that absolute moral truths exist; that such truth is defined by the Bible; and firm belief in six specific religious views. Those views were that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life; God is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe and He stills rules it today; salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned; Satan is real; a Christian has a responsibility to share their faith in Christ with other people; and the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.”

If this is the criteria used for a biblical worldview, then Catholicism meets that criteria since Catholics affirm all of these these things. However, if one (A) begins with an animus against Catholicism or is ignorant of its teachings, and/or (B) one considers themselves an infallible interpreter of the Bible and takes it upon themselves to judge who does or doesn't hold a biblical worldview then, yes, that is how one would hold the opinion that it doesn't.

If my answers to all the above were “no”, where would that put me? These are not Christian worldview points, but rather secular religion works based pablum.

My works display my faith, my faith evokes my works. All of my works are as filthy rags before the LORD God ALMIGHTY if viewed through the lens of myself, treasures in eternity if done because Jesus is Worthy.

In the case of this couple, I believe he was genuinely saved, but became deceived because of a love of money, but in her case, I doubt she ever was saved.

We are not under the Law any more, but that is not a license to sin.

We live the Law because of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives conforming us to the image of Christ, but we don’t keep the Law thinking that it contributes to our salvation.

We live the Law because.....
But we don’t keep the Law thinking.....

Do you keep the law or don’t you? If you don’t, you are sinning. (Sin is transgression of the law)

How about all of you that say you can’t sin?
How about all of you that say you can sin all you want to and still be in heaven? (The Ravi Principle)

I keep the law BECAUSE I am saved, NOT to be saved. And, I make that very clear. Yet, you accuse me of being a legalist.

Your statements are very convoluted at the best. Do you keep the law (God’s commandments) or don’t you?

“A lot of them have been taught that the LAW doesn’t apply anymore.”

The old covenant law was for sin atonement. Sin atonement is now available through confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In fact, Paul considered what he had accomplished by the law to be dung compared to what he gained through accepting Jesus Christ. Read Philippians 3:8.

That’s so unfortunate. Under the circumstances, the only thing that can be done is to pray for them and turn the matter over to God. Which you’ve done admirably.

On the one hand it’s a far cry from the many who claim to be Christians.

OTOH those are good strict standards and it’s encouraging that so many are so solid.

Plenty of work to do :). Let’s get busy brothers

Also- I doubt they surveyed such survey resistant groups as the Amish and Mennonites and etc. so I think we are little better than six percent.

Jesus being God spoke a lot count economics. Proverbs is rife with economic law and thou shalt not steal is the basis of godly economics.
