Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 50

Psalm 50

A psalm of Asaph.

1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord,
    speaks and summons the earth
    from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
2 From Zion, perfect in beauty,
    God shines forth.
3 Our God comes
    and will not be silent;
a fire devours before him,
    and around him a tempest rages.
4 He summons the heavens above,
    and the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 “Gather to me this consecrated people,
    who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness,
    for he is a God of justice.[a][b]

7 “Listen, my people, and I will speak;
    I will testify against you, Israel:
    I am God, your God.
8 I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices
    or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
9 I have no need of a bull from your stall
    or of goats from your pens,
10 for every animal of the forest is mine,
    and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know every bird in the mountains,
    and the insects in the fields are mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,
    for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls
    or drink the blood of goats?

14 “Sacrifice thank offerings to God,
    fulfill your vows to the Most High,
15 and call on me in the day of trouble;
    I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

16 But to the wicked person, God says:

“What right have you to recite my laws
    or take my covenant on your lips?
17 You hate my instruction
    and cast my words behind you.
18 When you see a thief, you join with him;
    you throw in your lot with adulterers.
19 You use your mouth for evil
    and harness your tongue to deceit.
20 You sit and testify against your brother
    and slander your own mother’s son.
21 When you did these things and I kept silent,
    you thought I was exactly[c] like you.
But I now arraign you
    and set my accusations before you.

22 “Consider this, you who forget God,
    or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:
23 Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me,
    and to the blameless[d] I will show my salvation.”

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father,
Who Art in Heaven,
How Blessed,
How Glorious,
How Wonderful,
Is Your Most Holy Name!
How Mighty and Perfect is Your Word,
And Your Promise,
Which You have allowed us a glimpse into Your Perfect Will!
You, The Eternal,
The Omnipotent,
The Immortal,
Not Bound By Time or Space,
because You Created it,
Your Ways are not our ways,
And yet we hunger and thirst for You,
like a thirsty little deer panting in the forest,
seeking a bubbling spring for a fresh sip of water!

Let All That Has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our Beloved USA
We Ask That Your People Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 28

Of David.

1 To you, O Lord, I call;
my rock, do not refuse to hear me,
for if you are silent to me,
I shall be like those who go down to the Pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplication,
as I cry to you for help,
as I lift up my hands
towards your most holy sanctuary.*

3 Do not drag me away with the wicked,
with those who are workers of evil,
who speak peace with their neighbours,
while mischief is in their hearts.
4 Repay them according to their work,
and according to the evil of their deeds;
repay them according to the work of their hands;
render them their due reward.
5 Because they do not regard the works of the Lord,
or the work of his hands,
he will break them down and build them up no more.

6 Blessed be the Lord,
for he has heard the sound of my pleadings.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts;
so I am helped, and my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.

8 The Lord is the strength of his people;
he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
9 O save your people, and bless your heritage;
be their shepherd, and carry them for ever.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Ownership of our Mobile Home Park has changed many times in its long life. At present, it is owned and operated by a huge company that owns hundreds of Mobile Home Parks and Camper/RV Parks all over the country. So, we are usually ignored as long as we pay the rent.

Some of us like it that way. I, for one, am happy to keep my property looking nice on my own. I am quite capable of not being a slob without a pile of rules and regulations keeping me in check.

Then there are the hoarders. They use the fact that we are ignored by the Management to fill their yards with junk. Old couches, TV's and other detritus pile up, get moldy, and present a hazard for everybody else.

Finally, there is a third category. These are the people whose property looks lovely, but they are not content with that. They are constantly calling the Property Manager to complain about their neighbors, and demand that the rules get enforced. They also demand more draconian rules for their neighbors (but of course not for themselves). A perfect example would be the rule against erecting fences between the lots. The ones who do all the phone calls for enforcement also felt free to erect a fence between themselves and their not-so-meticulous neighbor.

"Rules For Thee, But Not For Me" has been an age-old problem in government, religion, and society for as long as there has been Civilization. When asked which is the Greatest Commandment, Jesus responded that all the Commandments could be condensed thus:

Love God with your whole heart,
and
Love Your Neighbor as yourself."

In these two commands are contained all The Law and The Prophets.

If we all lived by these two Commandments, there would be no need for Rules and Regulations, but, alas, that is not real life.

Although I never want my Freedom to be a license to harm others, I rejoice in the fact that "Whom The Son Sets Free Is Free Indeed!"

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

From what I understand, a large group of Religious Jews gathered for a Lag B’Omer Festival (a happy holiday that follows Passover and commemorates the Manna) and there was a crowd stampede that killed 45 people.

This happens nearly EVERY year in Mecca during the Haaj, so it’s not atypical. Huge crowds can and do get out of control.

Prayers for Israel during this time of grieving.It’s very sad, though, as it is supposed to be a happy holiday.

But to the wicked person, God says:
“What right have you to recite my laws
or take my covenant on your lips?"

This, my "rights", became the pivotal issue in my salvation. God challenged me: was I willing to give up my personal rights to self-determination and independence, and cede them to Him, forever? In other words, did I trust Him more than me?

The setting where He brought this to a head was a six-day Christian seminar my employer sent us to. By Friday evening, the evangelist, Bill Gothard, had brought me to that decision-point. As he was discussing it, I knew it held my whole future--but I was having trouble hearing at this most crucial moment of my life, because the two morons right behind me were talkingtalkingtalking.

Just then, the Holy Spirit pointed out to me that this was His object lesson: was I going to exercise my "right" to turn around and request silence, or was I going to surrender that right and trust God? Here was the chance to test God.

I decided on God, and instantly there was silence behind me.

Moments later, when Gothard offered salvation in Christ to the 13,000 people there, I stood up and was born again.

October 14, 1977. And my favorite song is still All to Jesus I Surrender.
