For instance, the Vatican appointed Archbishop Roche to head the Congregation for Divine Worship, in replacement of longtime TLM-friendly Cardinal Robert Sarah. Roche is lately on record saying that the implementation of the Novus Ordo should be regarded as an “ecclesiastical duty,” inasmuch as it reflects “ecclesiological differences” from the Traditional Latin Mass, reflecting the “magnitude of the changes that have taken place” viz. “the theological content of the Second Vatican Council itself, which was ecclesiologically significant and cognisant of a world that had changed.”

Wait a tick… the Popes have assured us that Vatican II was merely a pastoral council (odd as that might seem), and that it made no definitive acts or binding formulations. How, then, could this Council propose a “theological content” that involved “ecclesiological differences” so significant as to render it a “duty” to create a new rite of Mass?

Sadly there are those who would have Catholics attending a “mass” that resembles a mega church multi media rally.

Anti Pope is in charge. I do not recognize him.

Koine Greek, not Latin was the primary language of the New Testament texts, letters and books, from the time of Paul to 600 A.D.

There is no record of Paul or his contemporaries performing any ceremony in Latin.

How then can Latin lay claim to the oldest ceremonial language of Christians, much less Christianity? It can’t.

Saint Peter himself visited Rome, and founded a Church on the very spot where his Basilica now stands. And when he preached the Gospel of our Risen Lord, he surely did so in Latin. You don’t get much older than that.

Speculation. He could have done so in Koine Greek. Probably quite a few people in Rome knew it.

When men make the rules the rules can be changed by other men.
For the Catholics and their “church” to claim sole authority to speak for God is beyond preposterous. They are a law to themselves and deceive many.

Exactly. And that’s what’s called “speculation”.

Wow!

What will happen to Latin-Americans?

They’ll have to attend English-speaking churches to get the latest traditions?

No they won’t. There are Latin-Spanish Mass missals available.

No need for English.

If I may... a couple of things... Greek was not the dominant language of ancient Rome... while a fair amount of Latin owe its roots in Greek - from Cicero- through Pliny- evidence points to a predominance of Latin spoken and written in those days- in aristocracy and government. Surely greeks though visited Rome.

Peter on the other hand would have a better grasp of Greek due to his geography and trade. That's not to say that St. Peter - with the power of the Holy Spirit couldn't spoke a Latin blue streak in Rome as well- Until another Apostle steps forward.. we have to assume... but cannot know that certainty.

We do know Nero was pretty pissed at these new Christian people dotting his city- so somebody had to be doing some talking to these converts and winning them over... (and if it wasn't St. Paul...) and so the Gospel wouldn't have been 'greek" to these ancient Roman Christians....

In defense of Latin - perhaps as a 'dead language" the Good Lord saw the Providence in a language that was "stuck in time"- to keep his everlasting Word from changing or being corrupted milennia down the road.... as MOST languages do... as the meanings of words obviously can and do change over time...(I'm thinking "Gay" ie). Just a thought from Mr. Madrid...

(I'm thinking "Gay" ie).

I'm thinking "pro multis" v. "pro multibus".

A deliberate mistranslation by the modernists. It wasn't even a translation; it was a lie.

Several years ago, while we were vacationing in Virginia, I was overjoyed to find a Latin Mass. It brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful, so dignified. I was saddened, though, to realize how much Latin I had forgotten.

You said,
Have you found any stupid American to help you claim your lost fortune?

Is THAT how your "holy fathers" in their "holy offices" teach you to treat your neighbor?

No?

Then do you have to ask them to "bless" you, declare that you sinned, report how long it has been since your LAST confession, and then let them know the details of how you've wandered away from the teachings and traditions of the "Holy Roman Catholic Church" so you can receive absolution after a "good act of contrition"?

Wait a couple weeks and repeat?

I'm just curious.
