The End Time: Part III

The only language that has been revived from a “dead language” to become an official national language spoken today is Hebrew. Hebrew is an amazing language wherein characters are both alphabetical and numerical. Not only do words have meaning, but every letter has a numerical value associated with a meaning. The usage of numbers in the Bible with such consistency of meaning is like unto a set of keys given to unlock doors. Inside the chambers are revelations of mysteries and treasures of knowledge and understanding.

The the biblical number assigned to man is the number six. On the sixth day man was created. The number of the beast is 666. In that 666 is a consecutive repetition of 6 three times, it is the seal of a final state of being: a man dead to the Holy Spirit, with no hope, absolutely void of God: a beast. For what is man when the Spirit of God has been withdrawn from him but a beast? As Solomon stated in Ecclesiastes,

“I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.” And again in Psalms, “Man that is in honor, and understands not, is like the beasts that perish”.

Indeed, we are like unto the beasts of the field that die and return back to the earth from whence we came. It is the Spirit of God that separates us from being mere animals. God breathed his breath into man, and man became a living soul. Seven, on the other hand, represents the completion of God; man brought to perfection.

Interesting, the forth day of creation is the day God appointed for the Sun to appear. The forth day of the week is the middle day that divides the week into two parts of three days on either side of the Greater Light. The lamp of the temple was also fashioned in like manner with the center lamp being the greater and bearing the other six lamps, three branches on either side. According to Jewish traditions, the center lamp was lit first, something noteworthy seeing how Christ was the firstborn, the beginning of the creation of God

An understanding in Judaism holds that the seven lamps allude to knowledge, represented by the six lamps which were supported by the central lamp. The center lamp which is stands on the base supporting all others, symbolically represents the Light of God. It is held that the seven lamps symbolizes the creation in seven days, with the center light representing the Sabbath—Christ is the Sabbath.

The occurrence of three in the Bible often heralds an event or a change; it is also used as a seal of finality. Christ was crucified at the third hour. He then hung on the cross for three hours, until the sixth hour, at which point, darkness covered the land for three more hours until the ninth hour. At the end of the ninth hour, Christ spake the words, “It is finished” and gave up the ghost. In all, Christ hung on the cross six hours before he died: from the third hour until the ninth hour, or 9:00am to 3:00pm in modern time. At noontime, darkness covered the land, marking a division of three hours of light and three hours of darkness; Christ taking upon himself the sins of humanity.

It is of great significance that the Crucifixion lasted six hours, being that six is the number of man and the man of sin had to die. Indeed, for the soul of Christ lived through the crucifixion; it was the man of flesh who was crucified and died at the end of the sixth hour, the sins of humanity also being placed upon Christ and put to death sin in the flesh. Afterward, on the third day, Christ rose from the dead in sinless flesh to die no more, thus, conquering death, Hell, and the grave. Here again in the Resurrection we find again the use of three days to herald an event.

If then, six is the number of man, and destruction of the flesh came at the end of the sixth hour, might not six thousand years signify a set time for the era of mankind from the beginning to the end? As it is written, “...one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”.

A belief historically embraced by Jewish sages, which remains very much alive in Judaism even until today, is that from creation to the end of the world, there will be three ages of two thousand years each. But, if it be true that there are three ages making a six thousand year era of mankind, what might these ages be? “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of kings to search out a matter”.

Three Ages followed by One

Because many false prophets and false teachers are entered into the world, we do not embrace ancient text or writings other than the Bible as scripture—although, some may be, or at least in part may have originally begun as authentic writings but were edited and changed over time. Both Jews and Christians posses troves of writings that either cannot be authenticated, or that were corrupted. A great number can be proven fraudulent, but others are of question and may indeed have value in study, even if only from a historical standpoint.

Although we may not be able to authenticate some ancient texts as scripture, we can often document the approximate time period they were written. We can, therefore, view these ancient documents in a historical context for the purpose of consideration of events, culture, knowledge, and the beliefs common to the periods in which they were written and popularized.

According to Jewish tradition there is a time frame in which the Messiah must come. He may come before if conditions are right, but no later than the year 6000; for in six days God finished his work.

The Talmud in Tractate Sanhedrin 97a says the following:

"...The world is destined to exist for six thousand years: The first two thousand years were of nothingness; the second two thousand years were of Torah; the third two thousand years should have been the days of the Messiah, but because of our sins, which are numerous, the years that have gone from [the Messianic Era] have gone."

Accordingly, by Jewish teaching, the Messiah was to appear 4000 years from Adam to begin the Messianic age which was to last 2000 years until the end of the world. That date was moved to the year 6000 when the Messiah failed to arrive because of their sins; or so they thought, and have since been taught. Many other Jewish sages concurred and also wrote of and confirmed a 6000 year cycle of the earth. This was a teaching found also in early Christian writings. One early Christian writing cited among 2nd century Christians and attributed to Barnabas, states,

“Of the Sabbath He speaketh in the beginning of the creation; And God made the works of His hands in six days, and He ended on the seventh day, and rested on it, and He hallowed it. Give heed, children, what this meaneth; He ended in six days. He meaneth this, that in six thousand years the Lord shall bring all things to an end; for the day with Him signifyeth a thousand years; and this He himself beareth me witness, saying; Behold, the day of the Lord shall be as a thousand years. Therefore, children, in six days, that is in six thousand years, everything shall come to an end. And He rested on the seventh day. this He meaneth; when His Son shall come, and shall abolish the time of the Lawless One, and shall judge the ungodly, and shall change the sun and the moon and the stars, then shall he truly rest on the seventh day.

Even until today, Judaism holds to the theology of a six millennial time frame of existence of the world. The six thousand years culminates with the appearance of Messiah at, or before the seventh millennium: a pattern they see confirmed allegorically by the account given of the seven days of creation in Genesis.

The literal meaning of week is seven. Is it not interesting that God would give the era of man six days and reserve for himself but one? Wherefore? Because the “Day of the Lord”, is an eternal day at the end of days.

Every day of creation, six days began with darkness which was dispelled by light in the latter half of the day. As it is written, “the evening and the morning”, in that order, God made day.

But of the seventh day there is no mention of the evening. Wherefore? The Genesis account is an allegory. As the rising of the Sun gave light to the earth after darkness, man, being made of earth, must come from darkness to light in every aspect of his being by the light of the Son. Six days must man labor until he comes into the seventh day, which is Christ, the fullness of light, rest from one’s own works, the Sabbath.

Six millennial days divided equally into three ages gives us three periods, each period lasting two thousand years. The seventh day which follows, heralds in the forth age which is the eternal kingdom of God: Three ages followed by one, the last being eternal wherein there is no night.

Being that we have a record of the last earthly age being termed by the Apostles, the “last days”, and, the “last time”; and having an approximate time of when that age began in the First Century, there remains four thousand years prior to the Last Times. Interestingly, some time around the beginning of the third millennium, 2000 BC, Abraham was born. Abraham’s willingness to offer up his own son Issac procured him a promise that he would become the father of many nations; and that in his seed, which is Christ, all the nations of the world would be blessed.

After the covenant given to Abraham, Moses was given the law, however that covenant was broken by the weakness of the flesh. Even so, Israel’s failure to fulfill the law could not make void the promise given to Abraham beforehand: a covenant not dependent upon keeping the law, but one of promise.

It is therefore the covenant of promise given to Abraham, and not the law given at the hand of Moses that is the greater hope. For the law of Moses, being broken, gives us nothing in terms of reconciliation to God; but the faith of Abraham does. Wherefore, the covenant given to Abraham by the promise of God is the greater of the two covenants.

With this in mind, consider the two genealogies given in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. In Luke we are given a genealogy that goes all the way back to Adam. It becomes evident with study that Luke’s account is the genealogy of Mary. On the other hand, the genealogy of Joseph recorded in Matthew begins with Abraham and records no prior ancestry: for Abraham was the father of faith in that he was willing to offer up his own son. In one genealogy we have Christ the Son of Man, and in the other, the Christ of promise, the Son of God.

For it was necessary to fulfill the scriptures to have two lines of ancestry, one going back to Adam confirming Christ as the Son of Man, and the other tracing back to Abraham to confirm Christ as being the son of promise; and not merely a promise, but a promise made by God himself in stating that from Abraham’s seed would come Christ, the Son of God.

Considering all these things, what do we have then? Three temporal ages containing 2000 years each, followed by an eternal age:

1. The first age, years 0 - 2000: An age wherein man is created in the image of God, but falls to sin and becomes under bondage to the flesh. (The flood is a divider occurring at a point on or near the year 1000)

2. The second age, years 2000 – 4000: The age of promise given unto Abraham, that through his seed, Christ would come for the forgiveness of sins and redemption of all nations throughout all ages. Abraham became the father of faith of all who believe. (David, given the same promise as Abraham of Christ coming through his seed, occurring at a point on or near the year 3000, is the conformation of God’s promised Messiah)

3. The third age, years 4000 - 6000: the fulfillment of promises; not just the promise of Christ given to Abraham and David, but the fulfillment of all the promises God has made since the foundations of the world. All of God’s promises pertaining to this world have been fulfilled, and those which remain to be fulfilled, soon shall come to pass. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away”.

4. The Sabbath which is the end of ages: The appearance of the Kingdom of God, the end of the world.

4. The Sabbath which is the end of ages: The appearance of the Kingdom of God, the end of the world.

Somehow, I got this hunch that God is right and everybody else is wrong at least to some degree. I know, “The science says”. That’s what the scientists keep telling us anyway. Do you buy the man made climate change that we have control over? How about all the science on COVID? But somehow, all the other scientist don’t have agendas. Or possibly there are factors we are unaware of that affect dating. The earth has changed 3 times since creation. After sin God cursed the earth, after the flood the the whole eco system was changed. Will know the answers someday if the Bible is true, if not , it won’t matter will it. I’ll stick with The Book.

God doesn’t say 6000 years. That’s a human interpretation
