On Saturday, along with the Vatican, symbolic monuments of cities all across the globe turn off their lights, to demonstrate the serious global climate crisis.

Vatican City State took part in the traditional international initiative Earth Hour 2021, promoted annually by the environmental organization, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
On Saturday, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Rome time), the lights of the dome and the facade of St. Peter's Basilica, as well as the colonnade, were turned off. Only a few lights remained on for safety reasons.
Earth Hour is billed as the largest global mobilisation against climate change. Starting with the symbolic gesture of turning off the lights for an hour, it is intended to unite citizens, institutions and businesses in a common desire to give the world a sustainable future and to overcome the challenge of climate change.
From the first edition in 2007, in which only the city of Sydney was involved, the initiative quickly spread tthroughout the world, leaving squares, streets and symbolic monuments in the dark, such as - among others - the Colosseum in Rome, Christ the Redeemer in Rio, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Bridge over the Bosphorus.

When I was on Fakebook I would see liberal acquaintenances post pictures of themselves in their dark houses to announce their wonderfulness because they were celebrating Urf Hour and teaching their kids how important it will be in the future to accept a lower standard of living. Even though they sure as hell aren’t doing it today.
I need to buy a charcoal grill so I can cook big, fat T-bone steaks made from methane-farting bovines for myself and my family, creating as much smoke as I possibly can on Earth Day next month. Or maybe I’ll buy a smoker and slow-cook a brisket. I haven’t decided yet.

Disconnecting large amount of demand could destabilize the power system and cause a blackout. Do not follow these instructions by clueless journalists.
In UK for example, the national dispatch center monitors popular TV programs; usually after these programs finish, millions of households boil water for their tea, there is a tremendous surge of power consumption for a few minutes and power plants must be instructed to generate extra power to mach this spike and prevent a blackout.
The church headed by Sir Francis has become a New Age cult. It still has a few Christian symbols lying around, but it is now a big version of Universalist Unitarianism under the “no hell” “who am I to judge gays?” “koooran = bible” “kiss imam on lips” guy.

That’s the word that came to my mind.
Isnt Jesus the light? The light of the world? There is something very disturbing about the church ritualistically turning of the lights as a form of sacrament. Very bad symbolism.
Correction:
One True Religion that happens to currently have a pagan worshiping pope.
