Washington D.C., Mar 2, 2021 / 04:00 pm MT (CNA).- Pro-life leaders responded to a recent straw poll of conservative activists where pro-life policies received the least number of votes for the activists’ most important issues.
Attendees at last week’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando were allowed to select up to three issues as their top policy priorities for the Washington Times/CPAC straw poll. Options included “election integrity,” “immigration/border wall,” and “second amendment.”
A mere 16% of conference-goers choose pro-life policies as one of their top three issues, making it the issue that received the least number of votes among attendees. Election integrity, constitutional rights, and immigration were the three top-rated issues of importance, respectively.
The straw poll is conducted at the annual event, and measures attendees’ policy preferences as well as their preferred presidential candidate. CPAC, a project of the American Conservaive Union, describes itself as “the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world,” and the conference is often billed as representative of the wider conservative movement.
The American Conservative Union did not immediately respond to a request for comment on its attendees’ enthusiasm for the pro-life cause.
Several pro-life leaders cautioned that the pro-life cause may already be a high priority for many Republicans, and thus the poll is not necessarily indicative of future GOP priorities.

You have to possess a functioning and honest Republic before you can effectively fight for ANY policy.
When your house is on fire, isn’t the best time to measure for drapes.
Until election integrity is obtained there is no other issue. Democrats and maybe a supreme court justice need to go-to prison over voter fraud.
That is not shot against other issues, just that everything is second to stopping and reversing the coup.
If it isn't then we continue to be a lost, amoral nation.

Democrats and RINOs will NEVER get rid of abortion.
Until we get rid of Democrats and RINOs, we will not get rid of abortion.
Election integrity is the only non-violent means of getting rid of Democrats and RINOs.
And who gave that to us, ultimately?
As our Founding Fathers warned us, there will be no functioning republic without the establishment of public and (especially) private morality. Those that toss private morality aside have undermined the republic.
Abortion will continue until people’s hearts are changed. Legislation wouldn’t be effective. That won’t happen if the current RAT/RINO attack on Christianity and First Amendment is stopped. First things first.
A meaningful poll would have asked for 7-to-10 top issues to gain any useful perspective on base concerns...
IMHO, the poll result indicates that the genocide issue is in the top 4-to-5...
The “last place choice” might include:
Watching the NBA or NFL,
or gasoline prices,
or Harris’ scarred knees,
or minimum wage,
or the $2000 check,
or the $1400 check,
or the reopening relations with Iran, Hamas, Cuba, Venezuela,
or Etc...Etc...Etc...
State abortion is the violent act of a violent state. Those who have instituted this and destroyed election integrity laugh at the notion of non-violent means destroying the dystopia they’ve carefully built.
This is very very sad, if the polls are true.
I take your point; but again, why do you think that only those who follow a single particular religious path are capable of a moral sense? (That seems to be what the OP is about.)
That’s what the Founding Fathers believed.
It has to do with the matter of God protecing the nation. Consider the protections that have already been removed, and the creeping tyranny that replaced them.

Yes there is a downside. Thise innocents aren’t being avenged, especially when the onus is on us to do so and not stand aside. Yes, such things have to be said.
