Pertaining to the Parable of the 10 Virgins. I would say there are quite a few differing interpretations, depending upon the person giving the commentary, and the lesson they have in mind as they approach it.

Rather than try and go through the various ways that this parable has been interpreted, I will just shared with you my understanding of the parable. I’ll let the Holy Spirit guide you in what lesson He wishes you to get from the parable, but this is what the Spirit has led me to see.

If anyone (besides Christ) is currently in heaven, why did Christ say a) he’ll come back for us and b) that the Bible says AT HIS RETURN the dead in Christ rise first, then all who are living, after?

No one is in Heaven yet. They all walk the earth or are asleep, waiting on the resurrection of the dead in Christ

to dwell on it loses the emphasis Christ wants us to dwell upon.

Exactly and importantly. I admonished my niece recently about this trap into which Satan lures believers, and I was gratified she got and agreed with the point.

I am a just-before-the-mid-Tribber myself (leaving aside the arguments here), which means I won't even be surprised if things get much worse before the Rescue. Regardless, I am Ready. Meantime, as you say, keep obeying.

I don’t have time right now to read the commentary, but look forward to it.

In short, While Paul is the chosen Apostle to the Gentiles, having revealed the mystery hidden through the ages, and given by revelation of the mystery, to the church....

The Old Testament Scriptures, as well as the Gospels, are given for our understanding. With that said, the parabels are also viewed in terms of understanding as types and shadows for the church as well as to give understanding to the Jews.

This interpretation of types and shadows can be applied to many passages of the OT as well as the Gospels on many accounts.

Just my view.

God Bless

As I began to read this I also began to equate the words spoken by Stephen before the religious sect of that day stoned him. Which I think emphasises your point-Matthew 23:2-4:

Acts 7:

51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

These words spoken by Stephen were the last words of warning given to the nation of Israel after Jesus had ascended and stood, before turning to the Gentiles. (Having been rejected by the Jews. Romans 11)

Likewise, I think, to further illustrate your point, just as in those days, the followers of religious traditions, reject the One True Mediator-1’st Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 8:6; 9:15

On the subject of the marriage between Jesus Christ and the bride, I found extremely interesting. It makes me correlate the jezebel spirit of old and the same spiritual adultry promoted today in the gentile religious sects. Adultry is grounds for divorce in the natural sense of the term, and it is my view that spiritual adultry is also grounds for divorce between Jesus and His fiancee. Which is my assertian against unconditional eternal security. There is One Head of the Body of Christ and for those that take on “another head” comitt spiritual adultry.Proverbs chapter 7.

Concerning the Holy Spirit and the Oil correlation I would agree. I liken our Born Again transformation to a Spiritual Creation becoming Spirit, Soul and body. Much like the Trinity being the father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Our new Creation becomes one with the Triune God. Not in a manner of elevating oneself but a requirement of acceptance.

Regarding Pauls former self (Saul) he regarded the things he formerly valued, ie. Self righteousness as dung. In order to gain the excellency of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

Regarding the present day condition of the Laedecean church, I would whole heartedly agree. And we were warned of this. Because satan has entered the pulpit he has been given authority by means of religious leaders to deceive and to lead astray. The Word of God is no longer given the authority of Truth. But rather has given way for traditions to be the arbitor.

The Holy Spirit convicts and leads the heart into all Truth. He is our Comforter.

I really enjoyed your commentary. Well researched and presented well.

God Bless

Matthew 25

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Midnight oil is not sold in stores.
